That’s an intriguing question. Unless somehow he has gotten out of his obligation for the service rather voluntarily or un voluntarily. I don’t know why anyone would want to join the service right now under the current leadership and administration leading this country. I love this country and served it proudly and honorable. But there’s no way in hell I would sign up for today’s forces.

Tennessee getting Crews, Skenes, Ahuna, and White all in one off season.

Incredible job Vitello.

So no actual news. Just hopes.

The King of the Portal Jim Schlossnagle just landed USC’s best pitcher, Carson Lambert.

Even DVH got a nice addition. Jared Wegner from Creighton.

I've read that the service commitment doesn't kick in until the 3rd year at a service academy. If you transfer out after year 1 or 2, then it isn't applicable.

You can leave but you have to repay the costs incurred and can potentially be forced to serve as an enlisted down the road.

They may let him out for just costs incurred, but it’s up to them.

Ususally you can transfer if you promise to pay back your time there

I believe they can leave within two years with no penalty. He is a sophomore so he needs to test the waters now or he is going to be stuck.

The Lake Forest, California native is someone I think the Vols will have a great chance to land, and someone they jumped on immediately once he entered the portal yesterday. He's a great catcher, but didn't catch a ton this season because he also is a great pitcher. Hit .314 with 13 homers this season. Was 10-3 with a 2.73 ERA on the mound. Started 15 games, 96 strikeouts to 30 walks in 85.2 innings, opponents hit .224 off of him. NC State freshman DH Tommy White continues to be a topic of conversation. Tennessee was in his final four, and I continue to think UT will have a solid shot in that one. Sounds like he is going to take things slowly though” Sometimes life isn’t fair.

This would probably be better suited for the Vol board.

Sounds like the 9th best team in the country is pulling a lot of strings to get over that 9th place hump! Good luck!

All that talent. Yet a team you swept in March ended up winning as many games in Omaha this year as Tennessee has won in its entire history in Omaha.

I guess you're right. Life isn't fair indeed.
