Barrett Sallee has gone all whack job.

Whether I agreed or disagree with Sallee, he mostly stayed out of politics. The last few weeks he's all into the BLM movement and white shaming people. His corporate bosses at CBS have really gotten to him.

Or he just believes stuff and he's saying it

I'd rather hear/read his political opinions than something from noted scholar and gentleman, SEC7070.

Ehhhhh this shite seems to be a CYA maneuver at best for a ton of these people on social media.
ETA: or a ploy to get likes/hearts/rainbows/whatever

It's just one of those things I don't understand people getting angry over. If you think someone is being intellectually dishonest or trying to get "cred", stop paying attention to them, stop following them and move on
- Scroll twitter
- @sportswriterguy#1432 guy being a blow hard
- "what a fvckin moron"
- unfollow
- moving on

I’m not mad about it at all but it’s harder to get away from than you think
I have friends who have never spoke of race to me or any of my crew EVER and now they are 100% full fledged fighting the power
It’s out of control

I went through an unfollow spree on twitter about 6 months ago because I realized that I was just waiting for tweets from people that irritated me to be pissed off (political and sports).
My 4-5 times a day scrolls of twitter are so much better than they used to be.

Another gator mouth with a hummingbird arse and brain to back up his lame predictions that will change when the season starts and he’s 100% damage control for his reputation — Now biggest joke in both CBS and ESPN regarding CFB, why’d you expect anything less when it comes to Politics
Clown George quotes his FB claptrap like the Bible just gulping that Sallee Kool-Aid and he don’t spill a drop.

Oh Instagram stories are a hoot these days. Every house mom in Atlanta, Nashville and Birmingham that I know/knew has 13 daily stories with reading recommendations and black squares. I just get a chuckle out of it. I mean, I'm glad for them that they are interested in all that now - but the idea that they are sharing this brand new worldview with everyone else as if nobody else knew and paid attention to this stuff before May 2020 just makes me laugh.

A great irony is Sallee was one of my twitter cleansings a few years ago
He's in that group of guys who is always looking to be in the center of everything. Not quite Dan Wolken/Clay Travis territory, but not far off either. Not my cup of tea.

I generally agree with this line of thinking. But I do think its getting old. Even if I agree with a lot of the stuff people are saying, there used to be outlets to get away from politics, social issues, etc., and now its just around every corner 24/7.
At some point its mentally healthy to escape the world and enjoy things that are 100% leisure. I think the annoyance to some people is that the old outlets for leisure are now also trying to beat each other to see who can display their wokeness the fastest. The problem is not Barrett Sallee. The problem is that its him and every other single person that has even the smallest platform in addition to every TV show, every commercial, and every acquaintance you have on every single social media platform.
I'd be far more impressed with some of these people if they hadn't waited around until it was cool to begin acting like this newfound mission to be woke was actually their life mission for decades... only they just now decided to tell folks about it. WHen you've been tweeting for 10+ years and you only just now in the last month decided to tell everyone how much you care about BLM, it wreaks of jumping on a bandwagon just to look cool.

Has he ever gotten any prediction other than "bama will win it all" right? Why would you even follow him for sports predictions?

100% - similar to my post above about all the Instagram stories.
I guess I don't really get frustrated with it as much as I just end up laughing at it and then ignoring anything they say. Which probably isn't the best move, because some of it is probably good information, but every once in a while you just kind of have to toss the baby out with the bathwater.

^^^This exactly^^^
Even if some of the stuff they are saying is agreeable to me, all I can think about is what a disingenuous prick this person is to think they have the credibility to lecture me when they've never shown any interest in these subjects until 3 weeks ago.

Everything Sallee spouts get dragged onto this Board by you Clown George! Go back and stack your Sallee Topics — You’re like an Asst In a Bangkok Whack Shack in charge of fluid transfers

Pokey, I'm sorry that Mr. Sallee's predictions that I linked a few weeks ago got you so upset. I didn't realize it was still festering like that!

Dan Wolken is the absolute worst. Pat Forde is a close second.
I get annoyed with Clay Travis and he especially lost my interest with the whole "it's just the flu" takes he had starting in March, but I at least appreciate that he adds some humor to his tweets. Wolken and Forde are just wet blankets whose missions in life are to be negative about everything possible.
