Is Tua's injuries due to poor play by the OL or his inability to get rid of the ball when pressured ? I just watched a little of the MSU game, but in the LSU game he was having to run around a lot. Will that effect how the game plan for Jones, or is he better at getting the ball out of his hands ?

Tua has always held on to the ball a little too long. He doesn't like to give up on a play and throw the ball away.

Not a troll, just wondering what Bama fans are thinking. AU fans blame the OL for the Offensive issues, but it isn't their fault a lot of the time.

I believe it’s his decision to hold on to the ball a bit too long waiting for someone to separate to make a pass or a block. He can release it so fast but when you get caught by a 300 lb man and try to torque your body to throw at the same time, your going to get yourself hurt.BTW, his OL is has not been giving him enough time either or the back misses his blocking assignment. When they do their job he is the best I’ve seen (college) in the pocket.

Ugh, the common consensus on this board is that it was Saban's fault. Saban, feeling his life is over because he is so old and decrepit, was trying to live through Tua and didn't care that Tua could barely even walk. Saban is related to Satan and, as you can see, there is only one letter difference in their names. That's scary.

All I'm certain of is that it has to be someone's fault and it wasn't just a football injury that happens because of big people slamming their bodies into one another.

Anytime you leave a player that can't really even walk in a game late into the fourth quarter, bad things are bound to happen.

Saban has his millions though.

Mac Jones is making his first career road start in JHS against one of the best defenses in the country. Makes me want to puke.

In all seriousness, I do believe it has more to do with Tua unfortunately being more injury prone than most QB's in recollection at Alabama, as well as the fact that he has a tendency to hold on to the football too long trying to extend plays.

100% holding onto the ball too long and trying to fight through going down by 2 300lb men. sometimes you gotta throw it away or just take the fall. Live to fight another day.

Trying to extend play is something you would think the coaches would have driven out of him by the third year. How many games has he played in have been close enough where one play was critical to the outcome? One, and that play was set up by a previous play where he took a sack after holding on to the ball. That decision making is more detrimental to his NFL career than his hip.

Yeah he sucks, may as well just rehab and start working on his Ukulele album drop.

Eh I think Mac will be fine. They aren't going to ask him to do Tua things because he can't. Auburn's D is very good, better than any we've seen so far. It will be a tight game but I think Mac will play well.
