Bama won the conference.
The SEC is the best conference in the nation.
Therefore that means that Bama actually won the National Championship. RTR
Print the shirts.

I’ve never seen a fan base whose identities were so intertwined with their athletic department’s success or failure.

Nice passive aggressive sort of brag to deflect from the gunslinger

But couldn’t make it past the sweet 16

This is a true statement.
Another true statement is that Bama owns 67% of the conference championships in the past 3 season.
What does that say about the other 13 teams in the conference? Oof

And Georgia owns 100% of the national FB championships from the last 2 years. Now what does that say about Bama

So basketball didn’t exist in this conference prior to 2020?

If we’re just picking the last few years out of convenience to gauge programs, then Georgia is the greatest football program in the SEC

They don’t care about the university brand, integrity, perception, academics, etc…
For example, Crimson Tide football is more like an NFL team to most bammers… Crimson Tide athletics or a new investor could buy a license from UAT and relocate to Birmingham, most of the fanbase wouldn’t even care…

UGA is certainly on tract for that. Time will tell

I get that other fan bases have a hard time with the nuances of history vs current state of the conference. That happens to programs who don’t understand sustained success, which is hard to do. Let try to simplify for you:
Current state of SEC football:
Georgia on top with Bama a very close 2nd (notice he didn’t say last 2 conference championships). There is no one else anywhere close.
Historical state of SEC football:
Bama stands alone…GA can enter the conversation as a historical competitor with 3-4 more NCs. No one else is even remotely close.
Current state of SEC basketball:
Bama is on top, with 2 of the last 3 years not being particularly competitive (check the records). Basketball has more games and upsets, but the conference dominance in the 2 years was pretty impressive. When’s the last time another school won both championships in the same season? Yet Bama’s done it twice in 3 years. Closest competitors are KY, Arky, TN, and maybe AU (though AU success looking a bit flash in the pan…aka LSU football)
Historical state of SEC Basketball:
Kentucky stands alone…there’s no one entering this conversation in the next 2 decades
Try to understand the difference between 1 hit wonders, a respectable multi-year season of excellence, and true greatness. I know that doesn’t make for good Rant trolling, but it at least keeps you from displaying embarrassing levels of ignorance.

Shouldn’t 2nd Place win their division? Or at least 2/3 rivalry games?

May have saved yourself with the “time will tell,” but the first sentence shows a recency bias that Bama fans laugh at. Imagine FL claiming they were approaching KY basketball in mid 2000s after their back to back NCs (which is infinitely harder than back to back FB NCs). It would have displayed their complete ignorance for the history of SEC basketball. You don’t want to be that person Saturday.

Congrats on being a worse version of Oklahoma football under Lincoln Riley, winning a sub-par conference and getting clapped when it really matters.
