It may not mean as much to you young'uns..but us old school Bama fans HATE TENNESSEE.

The volunteers are our true rival and it runs deep. ALABAMA and Tennessee founded this conference.

Coach Bryant played with a broken leg against those hillbillies.. Fat Phil drove his beloved vols off a cliff trying to destroy Alabama.

There's a reason we smoke cigars after beating tennersee..

Lose to those cove dwelling moonshiners just once… I mean a single time, ever … and you younger fans will suddenly understand the meaning of ugly and rival. Frick Tennessee in perpetuity…

Nah.. No hated here for auburn..

No doubt its a rival..no doubt its important. But its not the same.

I know that bothers y'all.. but its just a fact.

For decades, Alabama and tennersee dominated southern football.

In my house..its Tennersee, then Auburn..

Those were the days...I love the tradition. Yall have owned us over the last 20 years.
I remember in 2005 on my first tour in Iraq. We betted one of the units from Bama that TN would win. The bet was to fly the winning teams flag at the HQS of the loser for, I think a week. We lost 6-3 on a last minute field goal. Watched the game with some boys from bama at 3 am. Great games, lots of fun and good guys.

Most Bama fans don't hate Auburn. To be sure, we don't LIKE the Barners but they are more akin to the annoying little brother who is hell bent on kicking big brother's arse. Sometimes they do it and you just have to tip your hat to 'em and move on. But there is a respect there with Auburn that doesn't exist with Tennessee since Phil Fulmer first assumed control of the program 30 years ago. Most Bama fans now loathe the Vols with every fiber of their being.

those hillbillies

You folks think this is an insult, but East Tennessee people, and Appalachia people in general, are proud to be Hillbillies.

ALABAMA and Tennessee founded this conference.

What a lie!!

Led by University of Georgia English professor Dr. S.V. Sanford, 18 schools left to form the Southern Intercollegiate Conference (Southern Conference) on February 25, 1921 in Atlanta.

The Southern Conference grew to 23 schools by 1932. Again, the league was too big. Dr. Sanford convinced the 13 schools west and south of the Appalachian Mountains—Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Sewanee, Tennessee, Tulane, Vanderbilt–to reorganize as the Southeastern Conference. Play began in 1933. By December 1953, eight other schools—Clemson, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest—had left the Southern Conference to form the Atlantic Coast Conference.

I want to say something contradictory and lame, but Serraneaux is an ugly preview to this fact. Imagine 30-40 of him running around in here if Tennessee was worth a shite.

If Hooker and their #1 RB are able to go and UT gets a couple of their starters back on the Oline, then I think it could be competitive

If Hooker is out, then this game will be over by the end of the 1st qtr
