Kinda like Auburn a few years back.

Four wins that were a play away from being a loss:

Florida 31-29
LSU 20-14
Ark 42-35
Auburn 24-22 (4 OT)

Man, Bama was a lucky horseshoe from being 7-5 this season. What outstanding melts that would have been.

If Bryce Young falls awkwardly and tears an ACL against Mercer then we absolutely would have gone 7-5 or 6-6

True OP. Sometimes you have rebuilding years you have to suffer through. Been a rough year for Bama. Still think they will bounce back next year though.

Yeah, 6 titles in 12 years is a dynasty. What's your point?

We've won 6 national titles in 12 years and in our down years since 2017 we went a combined 22-3.

What exactly are you drunkenly raging about?

TBH I think they did really well with a true freshman QB starting. He did really well especially since the weak point of the team was the oline.

Yeah I think we had the same set backs LSU faced in 2020 losing so many great players.

Only difference is UA went 11-1 while LSU went 5-5.

DYNASTY????

Even good teams have bad years. How else do you explain 3 games with a point spread of about 69.5 and winning those 3 by a combined 15pts? It happens.... and no other reason other than that, right?

If our bad post-championship year is going 11-1 and not covering the spread enough then I think I'll survive.

Alabama clearly overachieved during a rebuilding year by going 11-1. The players showed a ton of resiliency when things weren't going their way. It's almost as if we had a Hall of Fame GOAT coaching our team. Oh, wait.

No other reason other than what? That Bama is a good team having a bad year? You are kind of talking in circles.

Saban has done a great job limiting "opt outs" and coasting by players prior to being draft eligible. Coach O did not at all. LSU has been at the least respectable towards the end of the year (both years) because the players playing weren't just going through the motions trying not to get hurt.

This is a pretty bad take. They are in the SEC Championship Game, and it’s obviously their “down” year. Maybe they got lucky a little but they win the close ones because they don’t choke as frequently the rest of our teams.

This team has its issues but aren't a bunch of quitters like LSU. They find a way to win and are sitting here at 11-1.

I can play this game.

LSU was three plays away from being 3-9 this season.

Mississippi State 28-25
Florida 49-42
Texas A&M 27-24

LSU was three plays away from being 2-8 in 2020.

Arkansas 27-24
florida 37-34
Ole Miss 53-48

LSU was three plays away from being 9-3 in the regular season in 2019.

Texas 45-38
Auburn 23-20
Alabama 46-41

Reminiscent of 2007 LSU too except that team actually lost two of those games during the regular season.

11-1 and back in ATL this week during what most of us fans consider a down year.
