Was Bama trolling UCF? No, they wouldn't do that.

Did Alabama troll UCF's National Champions claim?

quote:

Unlike UCF, Alabama doesn’t have to market itself as the “national champions” because the Tide have the trophies to prove it. Alabama running back Damien Harris, among others, haven’t been shy about reminding UCF that without a trophy to prove it, “national champions” is nothing more than a claim.

And perhaps Alabama can have a little fun, too.

On Friday, Alabama welcomed in the Twitter trophy for the 2018 National Championship. So naturally, the Alabama Football Twitter account tweeted out a photo of the trophy upon its arrival.

Notice the hashtag:

Twitter National Champions, baby!

I sat through the Dubose, Fran, & Shula years.

I was butt in seat at every home game through the Shula years. I felt like I had to support the team through those probation years.

So, now I fell like I'm getting awarded for doing that for so many years.

I definitely know how great these years are.

No, it's from Twitter, which is clearly stated in the op AND on the trophy.

ETA - Am I the only one that didn't know Twitter awarded a NC trophy?

Was right there with you through all those dark years and do not take any game now for granted. It is a great time for BAMA fans and most of us know it.
The run is amazing and the future is bright.

This is the era of social media. In the olden days of yore, like, say, the 1990s, teams could stay stuffy and unresponsive. Nowadays, fans, recruits , and the general public expect interaction and savvy. These are just the times we live in. Not so much a matter of being triggered as being involved

1st one.

I think they, the twitter sports team, created hashtags for the CFP teams. Like if you type #RollTide on your twitter, it automatically puts the script "A" after it. Georgia had one too.

So, I think, that the team that won the CFP, also won the twitter trophy and the right to keep their hashtag for a year.

Wanting to prolong the shelf life of its temporal emoji activations — #RollTide and #GoDawgs prompt the insertion of Bama’s styled A and Georgia’s G logo, respectively — Twitter is awarding is own national title trophy that will be personalized for the winner and will be triggered by those hashtags for a full year rather than just the duration of the playoffs.

“We wanted something that was more of a keepsake and something that could not only live on its own on the field during the celebration but can go back to campus and represent the year that they had on the field and also on Twitter,” said David Herman, an associate partnerships manager for sports at Twitter.

I humbly state it looks like something a group of high school kids put together to give to the monthly "student of the month" award.
