Bama plays on the road at USF this year. I actually applaud that.

They're Bama. They don't have to play any road games for any mid major. They have nothing to gain from such a thing, except maybe getting recruiting eyes in South Florida, which realistically I'm sure this is what it's about, but they recruit nationally already. They could just as easily schedule home rent a wins and a neutral site kickoff with some other P5 team and call it a day. They actually scheduled it to go on the road first and then get 2 return trips down the line. So they were willing to go there first in the series too which is a bonus.

I actually think it's cool to have a major player in the sport go visit these other smaller campuses. You know that game is going to be the biggest seller on USF's schedule. I love college football on campuses and miss true home and homes even if it's with a perceived lesser school. Good on Bama for doing this, I wish more schools would do true home and homes with P5s and these 2 for 1s with mid majors instead of the neutral site kickoffs at NFL sites. CFB should be played on campuses.

I'd like to think it was altruistic, but I am pretty certain it's a latent frick you to UCF, and their false sense of station.

Could be wrong.

Don’t they play at Raymond James Stadium?

Yep they sure do. It’s not going to be on campus. I’m sure they did this for recruiting purposes. I think Bama has a lot of guys from Florida on the roster so it may be a way of giving those guys a chance to play in front of family and friends.

That would be Georgia. It's not even close. Kirby knew he was going to have a new qb and needed to buy time. Credit to Nick for not being a wuss.

LSU had scheduled something similar with rice
Play rice at nrg in Houston and rice would play two games in Baton Rouge
Covid wiped out the houston trip

Back in 1990 we randomly played an away game against Louisiana-Lafayette (then known as Southwestern Louisiana) in Lafayette, LA.

Game Highlights

We also used to travel to Memphis during the 80s to play the Tigers on their home field.

Neither does anyone else.

Tampa is not in South Florida.

How is that a bonus?

USF is way larger than Bama.

2 for 1 isn't a home and home.

They don't have a campus stadium, they play at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium.

This thread is so bad it has to be a parody. Well done sir!

Bama used to actually do this quite a bit with mid majors

1990 played at Lafayette
1980 played at Rutgers (Giants Stadium)
1978 or 79 played at Cincinnatti (Riverfront Stadium)
1987 played at Temple
Many times played at Memphis and Tulane. Most recent at Memphis was 1991 and Tulane was 1992.
Bama still plays a game in Oxford every other year

I think Auburn played at USF

And lost.

Actually, my bad, we fricking lost at HOME!

Ugh.

We need a rent a win until Brother Hugh gets the pews packed with an Amen Chorus and some Hallelujah Singers.

Film work is [ON] OFF

You should let the school know.

Bama wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't helping them. There's nothing to applaud here.

I'd be happier if it was Miami - since they are actually in South Florida. USF is in Tampa... not really any further south than UCF

Any Florida team in recent years qualifies as a mid-major. Whether is UCF, USF, FSU, or UNF (in Gainesville).

We did that a couple of years ago. It was supposed to have been against UCF in the Citrus Bowl but they threw a hissy fit.
