Bama or LSU: Which fanbase has more of their self-worth wrapped up in football success?

Both fanbases are majority non-graduates, but I feel like there might be slightly less to live for in Alabama than Louisiana. At least the Cajuns have the Saints and whatever that queer arse NBA franchise is called these days. The rate of spousal abuse is also higher in Alabama than anywhere else in the country, for seemingly obvious reasons.

It much easier for fanbases with programs that win National Championships as opposed to teams that never win anything.

This thread went a totally different direction than I expected.

But at the end of the day, it's just another Aggy thread about:

It's Alabama and not even close. LSU and its fanbase have a lot of issues. Obviously. But in terms of needing football success to have enjoyment is something that affects Alabama to the core. If you go to a big game there you can sense they're more afraid of losing than having the desire to win. You feel like you're surrounding by 100k people who are too nervous to really cheer.

ETA: But then as soon as victory is assured they get all up in your face. They don't have the stones to do it preemptively though.

It's some sort of odd psychological obsession.I suppose it's jealousy? What would prompt a grown man to come to a message board and continuously post about teams that have nothing to do with his own? Bless this little fellas heart.

We know queer when we see it, and naming your professional sports franchise the Pelicans is “two dudes fricking three dudes” gay.

But our pelican is a cannibal which is metal AF.

Now Baby Cakes was definitely conceived on the wrong end of Bourbon by some Aggy alums.

actually neither Alabama nor Lousiana is in the top 10 for domestic violence. But guess who is? Texas comes in at number 8.
11)Missouri
10)Arizona
9)Kentucky
8)Texas
7)Rhode Island
6)Idaho
5)Wisconsin
4)Vermont
3)Maine
2)New mexico
1)Alaska

That has much more to do with the current state of our program than anything else.

Lived in Texas my whole life (outside of 4 years in BR) and the Aggies and have just as many fans that did not attend as any other SEC school imo.
