re: Bama insiders, how much longer until Saban rides off into the crimson sunset?

How’d you feel about the multiple arse beatings he’s laid on your team?

Rival fans were saying the same thing about Saban when he turned 60. How did that work out?

So we saved Spurrier's life is what you're saying.
(The self-deprecating humor will go over a ton of heads, I'm sure)

That’s mellow? Snapping at reporters asking normal questions. Whining about loses and looking like a sad sac every time his mug appears on camera. I’m no troll. I respect Nick for all he has accomplished. But he now acts like he is miserable and is grumpier than hell. He might be spending his days at his Georgia lake house soon. He sure doesn’t seem to be having much fun anymore
This is your Nick Saban failure fantasy talking. Everybody's got one and they usually flare up during the off season.
LSU fans sorta gave up on theirs a couple of years ago. You'll do the same.

Saban is going to wake up one morning, realize he screwed up a recruiting eval or something, decide he has lost a step, walk into Byrne's office and say he's done.
I've said that for 5-6 years now and I still believe it. Being part of a team is his life and he absolutely loves the grind of it. He won't leave it until he thinks he's unable to perform.

Not only has he done that his entire career. I think it was Cecil Hurt who said in an interview once that what none of us see are the reporters smiling, laughing and sorta goofing around when he's throwing tantrums and shite.
They all understand it's one big show for his players.

UGA finally beats Alabama and Coach Saban and they act like world beaters. Their best UGA team in a long time barely beats a weakened Alabama (and one of the worst Alabama teams under Coach Saban) that still should have beat them in Indy.
Just laugh at them

I'm not trolling here because I actually like Saban and have never really hated Alabama. To keep doing it as well as he has at Alabama through such a rapidly changing period in CFB is really quite incredible.
All that said, I think there's a danger in hanging around too long once it becomes clear it ain't happening. You have guys like Bear who stay competitive to the end (and then immediately drop dead in his case), then you have guys like Bowden who just kind of slowly descend into mediocrity. You have Spurrier, a guy I obviously love, who tarnished a helluva career with unnecessarily with one too many seasons at SCar - not a major blemish, but one that will always be there for a lot of folks.
And then you have guys like Joe Paterno that get so disconnected they have their whole legacy consumed because they were asleep at the wheel.
I'd rather see Little Nicky ride off into a career in TV while he still clearly was a force rather than mediocrity or worse. His passion for the game is something I hope will still be a player in CFB politics for awhile even after he hangs it up.
Which isn't to say it ain't happening again right now. Just if that becomes evident, all that above.

There is joy in being good at what you do. Regardless of what you do. Coach Saban hasn't taken a step back, he's good at what he does.

Bama insiders
What makes you think there are any 'bama insiders on this site? Most of the 'bama fans on here never made it past the 8th grade.
I guess that is a step up from most lsu fans.

How would you react to being asked the same questions time and again? He gets frustrated with the reporters because of that. I think he would rather just coach and recruit instead of answering repeated questions.

Until he loses his competitive fire like most winners.
He stays in good health and has fire in his belly every time he is on the field.
He may have 7-10 years left, maybe more. He is made to do what he is doing.
