yeah, those 5 yard out patterns to the TE are beastly. The LSU game will be the last of his collegiate career.

Holy shite. I'm out GUNTS. AJ isn't a top 3 qb and you all know it. You do know that JORDAN Jefferson in 09 had better or similar stats to AJ in 2011. Just let THt sink in when you're calling him top 3

But who are the best QBs in the SEC. None of them are that special. Are you saying Murray and Bray are that much better? 16/5 TD/INT ratio and 67% completion with a national title is a pretty solid year. He'll never have the stats of some of the other guys in Saban's offense but Murray and Wilson wouldn't be throwing that much at Alabama either. Bray was actually not very good last year even though he has the talent. Franklin could also be on the list but hasn't really played the SEC so it is hard to judge.

When you're talking about top 3 it is relative to mostly 2nd tier players. It isn't that stunning to say that the national title winner that had a 67% completion rate is in the top 3. It isn't because he's great but he has proven a bit more in one season than Bray has in two seasons. Are we judging on performance or potential?

In no way was AJ the catalyst to that title. He was your weak link. I know that is relative but damn. He was nothing special all year. I would put him 5-6. I actually think he could be top 2 at years end, but not now.

And To the poster who said JJ and his stats weren't similar, yes they are and any non biased person would agree.

There was a rumor after the BCSCG that honey badger had a burst eardrum from one of AJ's balls whizzing past his ear. Can u confirm?

AJ was third in the SEC in passing yards last year (600 yards in front of number 4). He was first in completion percentage. He was third in QB rating behind Wilson and Shaw. His yards per attempt was 8.

I'm not sure about Jefferson but he threw for 700 this year and 1400 last year. In 2009 he looked like he had potential. Now it is obvious that he's a bad QB.

Exactly the other QBs in the SEC are nothing to fear outside Wilson. Tyler Brays and Murray's stats can easily be dressed down. I like Shaw and Franklin better than those two.

He still hasn't fixed his wrong stats also Bama only played 13 games and we didn't let AJ throw 5 Tds against Kent state to pad his stats so I guess Aaron Murray is better

I said they dont define me. I'm glad to know JJ in 09 would be a top 3 qb if he could play this year.

Is this thread about McCarron being a top 3 QB in the SEC still going on ?

McCarron is top 3-4 going into this season. There is nothing anyone can say about that.

The top 5 in the SEC

1.) Wilson
2.) Murray
3.) Bray
4.) McCarron
5.) Mett

I would put McCarron over Bray MAYBE but Bray's WRs are just so fricking stacked.

You would need to contact ESPN or Athlon to determine that info. They are the leaders in player rankings.

Shaw is hard to judge because the sample size is pretty limited. He only really played much in 8 games and 2 of those games he was under 90 yards passing. He looked like he had very good potential with over 65% passing and not throwing too many picks.

Franklin played pretty well against some of the better defenses in the Big 12. He looks like he'll be pretty solid and probably have a big year in the East.

I have a hard time putting Mett over Shaw or Franklin at this point. Those guys have proven to be pretty good. Mett may be good, however we really don't have anything to judge him by.

Some jelly LSU fans up in here. 21-0 must still sting pretty bad. Hell, let's be honest...that's going to sting for a long time. Having the "best team in history" completely ravaged and annihilated on national TV by the Alabama team you already beat for all the marbles. Well...sucks to be you!

You also said that only Bama fans have AJ in their top three, which turns out to be completely wrong. You also said that you were out, which turns out to be completely wrong. If I can't believe random mouth-breathers on the Internet anymore, I don't know WHAT to believe!

Why dont you rank the qbs then big boy.
While your at it tell me how many Qb's that played at least 11 games last year are gonna start this year. That stat alone ranks a Qb ahead of any that didnt. Not to mention it also ranks you ahead of any that are all talented but was drawing plays in the dirt while in the huddle also.
AJ may the worst of the all year starters that played in sec last year, but that fact makes him also makes him the third best.
Although I think he is better than the turnover machine Murray.

Great? 16tds in 14 games and 188 a game isn't great

Why does he keep saying 14 games and 188 yards a game?

Alabama only played 13 games. Figure an LSU guy would remember that.

Ends up at 202 ypg, which ended up 3rd. 16 TD's was 3rd in the conference. So...

Or to word it differently..

Bama can do in 13 games, what Lsu can't in 14. Win a NC.
