Bama fans...how is it that Saban has embarked on an "excuse tour" in 2022?

Saban, no doubt, deserves the acronym, GOAT, I believe. He has all my respect.

But....a few days ago, courtesy of WJOX-radio/Birmingham, AL., Saban gave another thinly-veiled excuse as to why his team lost to UGA in the CFCG (in an indirect manner). He stated that Alabama was in a "rebuilding year" last year.

Earlier in the year, also courtesy of WJOX, he gave a more overt excuse as to why his Tide lost as being caused by the fact that he had injuries and missing players (as if UGA didn't have this problem, too???).

You fans know the game he plays better than we do and I'm talking the psychological type. What's with his shady remarks?

Serious-minded remarks like these are usually rooted in some sort of fear. Question is, what kind of fear? If not, are they a ploy of his to play up against his own players in order to inject some kind of inspiration for the coming season?

In any case, they come across shady. Very shady. What say y'all? After all, he said what he said.

He is the GOAT... but he is also a complete whiny bitch. It's probably a little people thing.

They were. The 2 best players on our team were sophomores.

Also true. That was proven by the outcome of the SEC Championship game and the drastic difference in how our team performed after losing Williams.

It is what it is. UGA had a great team. I’m not so sure why you need validation for that from Nick Saban or Bama fans.

The crux of the issue is that Alabama was replacing an unprecedented number of 1st rounders, large number of injuries and had unusually close games with bad teams...LSU, UF, Auburn...

but still managed to kick UGA's a.ss, win the SEC, Heisman and had a lead in the 4th quarter in the national championship...and that scares the shi.t out of you.

"If that was their rebuilding year then we're all f.ucked,"

That's the issue you're having.

It's not UGA nor our fans that need validation. We're sure of ourselves.

The question could be more aptly put, "...not sure why Saban himself needs validation by making excuses for the team's failures?"

Is he secretly narcissistic and this is how he copes with it? This is how he's beginning to come across. Serious curiosity and thought Bama fans would know.

You're the one sounding as if their feelings were hurt. Ouch.

I thought Georgia could handle a little success better than this.

We're handling it quite well. The question is, can Alabama handle failure?

Saban is preparing the rest of college football for major butt whippings. He knows how neurotic and mentally unstable some SEC fans are. He wants you all to go ahead and start taking your Prozac now.

No, you’re not - or your fragile ego wouldn’t have been bruised by Nick Saban accurately assessing our team last year.

We lost 8 players who were drafted inside the Top 40 in the draft, 6 in the first round. 10 total. Of the 7,041 yards we gained in 2020, we lost 6,000 of those for 2021. We ranked 123 out of 127 teams in returning production for both sides of the ball.

What would you call that?

UGA's "fragile ego"? Sorry, but we're not the program that's won 6 national titles since 2000. You are. It's YOUR fragile ego that's showing the cracks.

Nice numbers he shared; just isn't necessary to use them as an excuse for losing, however, and neither by you and other Tide fans, either. After all, we lost a TON of players during the season, including our starting QB to a walk-on QB who happened to deliver the mail .... right on time!
