I know AU BB history is not very impressive, but I have never seen this type of reaction from Bama Fans. Help me out, has AU ever made the Big Dance and Bama had to sit home and watch ? That might explains some of the behavior.

You are right, we're just ate up about Auburn. That's why we want to fire Avery.

You may have a point IP, but our “reaction” has been going on for months.

I would be just as pissed about our performance even if AU was the worst team in the SEC.

Auburn is a huge contributing factor. Similarly half of the sec has made a recent hire that is working out better than Avery

It’s the difference between football and basketball. I could not care less care less about auburn or whoever else is good enough to make the tournament. I want Bama to do well, but the rivalries in basketball don’t mean as much. I’m happy for Auburn and the rest of the SEC teams making the tournament. I’m disappointed that Bama underperformed. Again.

I don't mean this to troll, but I think y'all were overrated at the beginning of the season. You only underperformed because the bar was set too high to start with.

Y'all have some solid talent, but absolutely no depth. Y'all have 5 or 6 quality SEC guys, but after that its a big, sharp drop off. On top of that, the quality talent that y'all do have isn't really built into a team. Its like Avery just signed the top rated players he possibly could without considering what role they would play or how they would fit in. Yalls "team" is basically Donta Hall and a handful of guards cobbled together, and the holes filled in with a bunch of guys that may or may not be worth an SEC scholarship

They can still make some noise in the NIT. Watched BAMA a few times this year. Looks like a good group of players, maybe it is time to try a new coach maybe

I always thought this was going to be a rebuilding year after Sexton left early. Petty was a bonus for not leaving, but I think he was overhyped from the beginning. There are not any scorers on that team and Johnson did a decent job keeping them in games all year.

I’m happy for AU as a 3 seed. But as usual Kentucky will probably be the last SEC team standing in the tournament. Auburn and Tennessee successes in basketball doesn’t bother me. Yalls success in football concerns me some what.

And that's a problem after 4 years.

I understand what you are saying but it’s not the end of the world is all I’m saying. Still got a bright rest of the sports season, your softball and baseball teams are both playing well.

I know that's not what you actually said, but we both know it's what you were really thinking when you typed out that "nobody at Bama is scared of Bruce Pearl"

I mean I'm still not "scared" of Bruce Pearl. He's fvckin awesome, but this is basketball. There's not a roadblock to success by another school being good like there is in football.

Pearl has done more at Auburn so far than I would have predicted. I thought he'd have them competitive and in the NCAAT more so than not, but I didn't think he'd have them at championship level (in a very good SEC). Dude is great. What's he done is unbelievable.

But yeah, outside of it being irritating to lose to Auburn, it doesn't really effect much. We don't even really recruit against each other all that much. All I want is for us to be good, I truly don't care about how good anybody else is. I'd much rather prefer the league be really good, including our rivals.

I'd rather give blood than actually have to sit through an entire BB game. Last tried during the NCAA's when visiting my bud in Ca and his Wisky Badgers were playing someone (Arizona comes to mind) in L. A. I had to get up and walk around repeatedly. But I've lost interest in baseball too. He and I went to Giants vs Kansas City (sure it was Giants and think it as KC) game 7 World Series a few years back in SF and that was worse than the hoops thing. Congrats on retaining your childhood enthusiasm for the games and Auburn's tournament run. You'll know you are officially old when they bore you to tears.

Paradoxically he drug me to the Wisky-Oregon Rose Bowl back in about 2012. Russel Wilson vs those water bugs of Oregon. Hell of a game and it went to very, very late before Oregon pulled it out. And the UW fans were a trip. Women with hair under their arms and out cuss a sailor.
