Pretty good interview, but basically B10 has been having advanced convos with Oregon, Colorado, USC, and UCLA to go coast to coast. Only possible B12 teams for them are kansas and Iowa State. It does seem then that the B10 is looking to jump at least to 18. If that is true then the Clemson and FSU rumors would make sense.

Might as well just make it the NFL with an NFC/AFC setup with the SEC vs the rest

B1G can go to 24 pretty quick if they want..

USC
UCLA
Stanford
California
Oregon
Washington
Arizona
Colorado
Utah
+ Kansas

Are all AAU schools. This is 100% their move imo.. Only question is when.. Those 9 schools could likely dissolve the PAC overnight if they really wanted to join.

THAT is a huge footprint. It would be a solid league no doubt.

Good job, I watched that video and was going to link it as well. Nevada, the guy interviewed noted that Texas and OU hired a Search firm from NYC to approach the Big10 the same time they approached the SEC. The BIG10 would have taken Texas, but not OU due to the AAU research designation.

Texas to their credit said if you don't take OU, you don't get us. So kudos to Texas. That shows some loyalty to a team that you have played the Red River Rivalry for 116 years.

Interesting times indeed.

If the B10 goes that aggressive there will only be two leagues left in college football and we'll just have the NFL

That might be their best bet to get ND, because being independent would no longer work and I doubt ND would want to be part of the SEC.

So, they can't take the DUCKS, they are not a AAU school. So they are gong to leave out the Sooners but take the Ducks. The big ten is going destroy the Pac their longtime partners in crime and rose bowl partners.. AWESOME, big ten the biggest bully of them all...

The post katrina game that was relocated to Tempe was my favorite non-SEC road trip by far. South Mill bar's were a blast pre and post game, easy airport access with no traffic issues, weather was awesome (it really IS a dry heat), good stadium atmosphere for an unscheduled event, smoke show in every direction, Early for the win!

Love it. Anyone who goes West is at a disadvantage from jump. There's just not the eyes to be had. We may as well absorb Kansas now.

I'm no scholar but in terms of this arms race. Will AAU be at the forefront?

May as well just rename the whole thing after the NCAA split. We can’t have something geographical though, because it’s a clusterfrick. We can’t use someone’s name, because they may have been associated with racism.

I guess we will have 32 teams in conference A, and 32 in conference B.

And the hundred year tradition of the Rose Bowl that B1G and Pac 12 worked so hard to keep will be flushed. Congrats.

maybe I am wrong on the Ducks but still, it is a no brainer in football and a national brand that you take the Sooners. Still makes no sense and I don't believe the big ten Texas and the sooners but if they did they are dumbest MFers on the planet. Hell the huskers are not AAU member anymore...

13/14 B1G schools are AAU. Nebraska is the only one who is not AAU, and they were when they joined the B1G.. but lost membership. They will not take any schools that are not AAU.

9/12 PAC schools are AAU. Both leagues care a lot about academics.. and AAU status means that you spend a lot of money on research and that you school cares a lot about academics.

The B1G is a group of research schools first. They only took Nebraska because they were AAU. That is why they took Rutgers & Maryland. That is why they are talking to Kansas & Missouri at one point.

B1G membership has 2 rules.
1) AAU
2) Contiguous State

They will have to make an exception on #2 to reach California.. because there is a gap either way.

They don’t make football decisions. They make school decisions. The amount of money they spend on research.. and the grants they get from it.. don’t even compare to the sports revenues. We are talking billions or dollars collectively. It is just nonnegotiable.

Texas & OU approached the B1G and SEC at the same time. B1G said yes to Texas, no to OU. Texas said we are a package deal and it was all SEC at that point.
