True. I have been counseling Bama fans here for a couple of years to just have some patience. They are just now turning the corner. Would be a huge mistake to bail on him now.

Grant's last season :

18-14 (8-10)

Alabama currently

18-15 (8-10)

Objectively false. Hilarious how commentators won't criticize guys getting multiple millions for doing a terrible job.

Style of play's entertainment value isn't really any better either.

It's worse. Grant's teams were offensive disasters without much scoring talent. They played hard and generally played good team defense. Not fun to watch, but not over the top frustrating.

Avery's teams, well everyone knows.

SEC commentators just pumping sunshine on its teams. Hell, they were talking up Vanderbilt before their game on Wednesday.

Avery is a much better coach than y'all give him credit for. Needs a little more time.

100%. LSU and Alleva will love to have a Louisianan as their next HC to succeed Wade.

IMO, I cannot distinguish between Grant's teams and Avery's teams. Both had an average to above average talent of players, that both played below ability, and generally underacheived.
Both floundered around the bubble throughout the season, winning a game or so that you may not expect, losing to teams having no business losing to.

2015 Alabama
KenPom : 55th
Vs RPI Top 50 : 1-8

2019 Alabama
KenPom : 60th
Vs RPI Top 50 : 2-9

Same team.

Avery Johnson is Alabama’s version of Gus Malzahn.

But worse.

He's a good coach. Runs a clean program. Don't take that for granted.

Some of those Grant teams were hard to watch. I think Avery was a slight upgrade because he has brought in a little more talent but the results are definitely similar.
