This only encompasses high school football recruits, and not JUCO players (too lazy to merge all of the data at the moment).

This is based off of the 247 Player Composite Average.

Notes

-The level at which UGA is bringing in high school talent is pretty insane. Also, that 10-year Bama gap is a spectacle.

-From a recruiting standpoint, it would seem like Mississippi St was on an upward trajectory.

-The bottom 3 each being from the SEC East is rough.

-I was thinking about filtering out kickers, punters, and long snappers and utilizing the resulting numbers, but left it as is since every team has to recruit one of these at some point anyways. From a visual standpoint, the only change in position would be A&M and Auburn in the 3-year stretch.

-Obviously this blanket approach has holes in it, but interesting nonetheless .

I would have guessed that UF made a bigger jump from 5 years to 3 years. Kind of surprised by that.

Kirby's current recruiting setup and system at Georgia is as elite as any in the history of the sport. He's taken early Saban era (2009-2015) type recruiters and process to a place with a much bigger inherited recruiting base. He's fishing with frickin dynamite.

Also shows that Alabama's recruiting hasn't really changed at all - the rest of the league's has just kicked up a notch (a lot of it having to do with Texas opening up and USC-less poaching in California, as well as Florida being wide open with a toothless Miami/FSU recruiting wise).

But no national title for UGA in that time period. Must be poor coaching by Kirby.

Beat you asshats to it.

I have to assume we're going the mack brown route; keep stockpiling talent and finish in the top 5-10 every year and eventually it'll all come together.

Wow, so you’re telling me that the “lack of talent” A&M has been suffering from is made-up bullshite propaganda?

They’ve had virtually the same talent level as Florida since they joined the SEC and they can’t win more than 8 games

I mean, has Florida really been all that much better?

Well Florida has won 10+ games more times in the past 2 years than A&M has since 2000, so yea lol. They still have a ways to go but they’re a much better program than A&M at this point in time

ETA: A&M has been way more consistently mediocre though. Florida has been volatile as shite but A&M just holds steady, year after year, decade after decade, floating between 6 and 8 wins

To be fair, Texas A&M is still behind Alabama, LSU and Auburn in overall talent in their division.

Florida is pretty much just behind Georgia.

I'm not huge on the "East vs West" thing, but Florida played 3 teams that finished ranked and went 1-2 (with the win at home vs Auburn) in 2019. They went 2-1 in 2018. A&M played @ #1, @ #2, @ #4, vs #8, vs #14. So, I agree, but it's hard for me to compare those records too much.

But next year is absolutely a big year for A&M. They have to breakthrough and be better than "ok". No doubt about that.

Was hoping this would lure George out from the quarantine funk to have SOMETHING tangible to talk about.

It is wild. Keeping with just the HS players theme, each of his last 3 classes have been the top 3 averages for UGA since as far back as this data goes (2002).

Bielema was a better coach than Morris but a shitty recruiter.

Pittman put together a surprisingly solid class despite never being so much as a coordinator. Hopefully he can coach.

Seems like a good summary for Arkansas.

They are going to have 12 5-stars on their roster this season.

They've signed 16 5* players over the last 3 seasons -- more than every other SEC team combined NOT named LSU and Alabama.

Kirby needs to calm down with this.

They're gonna break through soon and when they do my gawd in heaven are they going to (understandably) let everybody know about it - especially the folks in Lee County, AL.
