I know but what people don't understand is the AU powers that be have new blood and will go after whoever they want. Bobby's affair isn't going to play that big a role in his hiring to any place. The only thing that it would effect is that he would be under a microscope wherever he lands.

there will be big name programs that will not take his agents phone call because of the arkansas fiasco.

Yes there will. PR is a strange monster. Bill Clinton turn the Oval Office into a bedroom, and people still want to party with that guy.

Of course he wins games. Just hasn't beat Alabama as a HC. Is that something your fan base can take? Bring in a new coach that wins but can't get it done at the end of November?

He didn't beat a better bama team while at Arky. Not a big deal. He won plenty in Nov and beat some damn good LSU teams.

Not beating bama while at Arky is only slighty more relevant than the woodshed beat down he laid on saban when AU played Saban with Petrino as OC.

If AU were to hire Petrino (which I personally believe is a less than 50% possibility), the national media reaction would be that it is a strong hire and that he will win and win soon and probably big at AU. There will be some personal attacks on Petrino , but not many. In fact probably less than when Saban was hired at bama. Probably way less.

Auburn's boosters are some of the richest in the country.
I don't think you have a clue about what you are talking about right now...their endowment isn't even in the billions. To give you a frame of reference, Stanford is 19 billion. Yes, Stanford.

Endowment is the money your boosters pour into the university on all levels, including athletics.

I smell fear. There will be less national attacks than when bama hired saban. Count on that.

Not as bad as they did saban when bama hired him. Those attacks went on for almost 2 years by the national media.

The media will call it what it is, a strong hire while attacking petrino on a personal level to an extent.

Big fricking deal. BRING IT ON. Will not bother me one tiny bit.

Endowment means jack-frickin-shite. South Alabama has an endowment of over 400m but can't put any of it into athletics.

Sorry man but, no. Have you not been paying attention to AU in the media, basically for the last four years? That plus Petrino would be an all out Woodstock 94 mud fight. Luckily like you said, a good hire that would starting winning fairly early. And back to the PR thing, everyone knows winning cleans everything:

Petrino wasn't the head coach, and Saban wasn't at Alabama.

Tony Franklin ... I think he is one the rising stars that got crapped on by Tuberville. However going with him will require a complete dedication to the spread.

For those that havent been keeping track of him he is now the LA TECH OC.
