Lane Kiffin $3.9 mil 66-39
Will be making about 5 this year, maybe more
The rest are at programs(Except UT) that dont make nearly the revenue. Like RT said above, we are paying market rate for our program and the coach we hired. LP cant grasp this because the only thought in is head is "Auburn not gud..."

And Harsin has never been fired unceremoniously on the tarmac either..

Not sure why you people are getting caught up on that comment.
Because you said it was crazy. It's really not.

That $5.25 Mil salary ranks him around 5th or 6th in the SEC, and that is also pretty wild.
I guess you're just a fan of hyperbole then. What is wild about him being in the middle of SEC salaries?

No, I didn't. I said it was weird to think about.

You people are some sensitive fricks this morning. The wild part about that is a 5.25 million dollar salary is only good for middle of the pack in the conference. That is wild.

I have to say, of all the comments that Tuscaloosa has made on this board that gets folks riled, this one is perhaps the most innocuous.
I really don't even think he meant anything by it -- it was just a random observation.

I guess I don't see the wild part about it.

I wouldn't say anyone here is "riled".

quote:This list is off, a little. Harsin is making $5 mil in 2021, his average is $5.25 over the life of the contract (6 years). Stoops' salary increases to $5 mil in 2021, same as Mike Leach and Harsin,
Nick Saban $9.3 mil 256-65-1 (79%)
Jimbo Fisher $7.5 mil 100-33 (75%)
Kirby Smart $6.4 mil 52-14 (78%)
Ed Orgeron $6 mil 61-41 (59%)
Dan Mullen $6.1 mil 98-54 (64%)
Bryan Harsin $5.25 mil 76-24 (76%)
Mike Leach $5 mil 149-97 (60%)
Mark Stoops $4.75 mil 49-50 (49%)
Lane Kiffin $3.9 mil 66-39 (62%)
Josh Heupel $4 mil 28-8 (77%)
Eli Drinkwitz $4 mil 17-6 (74%)
Shane Beamer $2.75 mil 0-0
Sam Pittman $3 mil 3-7 (30%)
Clark Lea $2.75 mil 0-0
So Harsin's salary is tied for sixth with those two. The only coaches below them are Kiffin (whose history here is well known), and 5 guys with a combined 6 years HC experience (compared to Harsin's 8) and a combined winning percentage of .695 (compared to Harsin's .760), 1 conference championship (compared to Harsin's 5) and zero NY6 bowl victories (compared to Harsin's 1).

quote:My bad. I misinterpreted your comment as saying that Harsin making $5 mil was 'weird to think about' in that it was out of line with the market rate in 2021 (h/t to CaptainBrannigan )

It may very well be. I just did a quick google for each coach and that's what I got. Regardless, salary-wise he'd really about right where he should be in the SEC.

Nate Oats went to back to back NCAATs with a team that hadn’t been and was like 30-3 or 30-2

Like you did Nate Oats?
Nate Oats has been a head coach for 6 years. In those 6 seasons, he's won 4 conference tournament championships (3 in a row), 4 NCAA Tournament bids, 3 Conference Championships, and has 2 NCAA Tournament wins.
I feel pretty good about what we've paid Nate Oats.
Posted on 3/17/21 at 1:16 pm to Tuscaloosa
When you gave him the extension, before he had actually won the SEC, what conference did he win? What conference did was he in before the SEC? Surely it wasn't SEC level?
We hired a coach with similar accolades, not in the SEC and it's the most mind blowing stupid thing but you do literally the exact same thing and are good with it. Can't spell retard without rtr

4 Conference Championships. That number seems familiar? I wonder why?
You've been asked twice to go through the thorough list I provided and tell us where AD Lemonpuppy thinks he should be paid. You seem to be taking more umbrage about his contract than anybody else in these threads. Back up your work. Or are you just upset because it's Auburn?
Aubsessed

Kiffin got a new contract, which details have not been released yet. he was slated for 4.1m this year. He will make at least 5m
quote:
Josh Heupel $4 mil 28-8 (77%)
Eli Drinkwitz $4 mil 17-6 (74%)
Shane Beamer $2.75 mil 0-0
Sam Pittman $3 mil 3-7 (30%)
Clark Lea $2.75 mil 0-0
So of these, outside of experience, Heupel is the only anomaly with programs that generate significant revenue.
Harsin's contract is pretty much par and what should be expected for a coach of his caliber at Auburn
