Ruined his career? You mean like the FBI investigation that landed Person in Federal Prison. Don’t forget his wife is from Sevierville/Knoxville Tn. He loves Tennessee and always will. Both Bruce and UT done great things for each other. Bruce took UT to new heights never seen before snd UT was his first big time program. So don’t think he wouldn’t at least entertain it if Danny White came knocking.

I’m sure going back to UT to coach will be on his mind Saturday, not his team or the game.. smh. You can still cherish memories in the past without wanting to relive them. Life goes on. And I know he loves playing against Rick Barnes at UT. Do you want me to tell you why?

Which is complete crap that Tennessee let him go for something so trivial.
Did they even have a choice? The NCAA gave him something like a 3 yr show cause because he lied to them, which is total BS. But how could Tennessee have retained him when he wasn't allowed to coach, recruit, or have any association with college basketball?

Good for you. Maybe Harsin can have a winning season next year and help support Auburn’s basketball school budget.

UT fired him before the ncaa sanctions because it felt it was the best way for the university itself to avoid getting hammered. The show cause came later and the ncaa accepted UTs self imposed penalties.

Pearl's good seasons at Auburn have been incredible seasons but this season on particular shows how great a coach he truly is. Every player he added thru the transfer portal this year has been perfect fits to compliment his prize recruit Jabari Smith and the rest of returning players from last year's team. To be able to turn a team losing the best player off of a team with a losing record the previous year and turn it into probably the best team in school history the following year shows not only how good of a gameday coach he is but how good of a talent evaluator and roster builder he is. He's arguably as good as Saban when it comes to identify talented players that fit his system.

Not sure where you get your information but it's not correct.

Lmao why would he leave Auburn for UT?

Auburn has done more in basketball than UT ever has.

So I can't disagree with it?

Look, I really feel like Bruce loved his time in Knoxville. I know UT fans love and appreciate Bruce, not just for winning games but for injecting life into a fanbase that was pretty much dead.

Might be fun to debate whether he would consider an offer if one was extended. Alls I'm saying is that offer will never happen.

Bruce does still care about Tennessee. He is very genuine about that fact and says so often. That said, the same devotion and determination that causes him to have fond feelings toward the Tennessee program are the very same things that cause him to genuinely have ownership now in the Auburn program.

Bruce is by far the most powerful and well liked coach on campus. He has earned that right. He plays in a great Arena and has a practice facility approved that is about to be built adjacent to that Arena. The two best players on this year's team come from Newnan and Fairburn, Georgia. Those towns are approx an hour's drive from campus.

He has a new contract that makes him one of the top 5 paid coaches in the country. Add to that the fact that he has built a mini palace for a home and his son is one of his top assistants and you have a guy that has no interest in starting over again. Tennessee would be smart to go after Steven Pearl if the opportunity came open.

Absolutely a 0.0% chance on that one.

Honestly, I think the chance of that happening is even less than that.

Might be more fun to debate something more realistic...
