Not that you weren't kidding or being tongue-in-cheek, but obviously it's pretty different when the USC one breaks out into "Heyyy, Hooo" after five seconds while the AU one was actually sincere and meaningful.

Gospel songs have been a big part of the team ever seen team chaplain Chette Williams came onto the scene with the Tuberville regime. They've been singing songs like this forever, most notable, as mentioned in this thread, Hard Fighting Soldier. Lean On Me just happens to be this year's song.
