In a victim impact statement that Auburn University filed to the Manhattan federal court last week, it stated that it expected to receive a formal Notice of Allegations form the NCAA.

“As a result of [Chuck] Person’s misconduct,” the impact statement read, “Auburn expects to receive a formal Notice of Allegations from the NCAA in the coming months.”

I posted this in the thread started yesterday (which did have a very poor subject line so this may be better).

Anyway, like I said . . .

They are expecting the NOA and are jumping out in front of this to lead the narrative. Smart.

Needless to say, (and regardless of what he wants) Chuck Person is being tossed aside and called a rogue coach by the University and will not be welcomed back anytime soon.

We have known this, but this is the first time in print...

Positives: Did not involve recruiting

Negative: Involved an assistant coach

Violation: Wiley accepted $800 over time, Purifoy $1,200... mostly small amounts to go on dates, etc. Pyrufoys parents got another $2,500.

End Result: Slap on the wrist

Also, Wiley sat a whole season. Purifoy sat a whole season plus 10 damn games.

REC reach is endless. They are now dominating federal court systems and the FBI. Bigger question for LSU fans is what plans do they (the REC) have for Will Wade. Perhaps the REC, since it's BB, will allow Wade to continue on coaching @ LSU under some restrictions. Stay tuned.

That was the victims statement (please read entire statement) written by AU and the NCAA to show the world that both parties did everything in their power to prevent this from happening. The NCAA and AU closed the book on this issue months ago and the NCAA is in damage control for turning their blind eye on the shoe companies and rouge agents. The lawyer wrote that statement as a way to contribute to the campaign of NCAAs policing. Expect to see similar statements in the near future from other schools.

Auburn is the victim in this whole thing, and they had to pay for what Persons did by sitting 2 players for a full season.

The NCAA should be satisfied with the way Auburn handled to entire mess.

I have said it the whole time, AU and the NCAA have been working together on this. You notice AU did not push back on the length of the suspensions? The coaches want to, but AUs Compliance people worked out the deal.

I believe the NCAA handed down their suspensions. Auburn was smart getting out in front of this early.
