Since Rod Bramblett’s passing Auburn has been slow to discuss his replacement. In the next few days Auburn will formally announce his replacement per Brandon Marcello. Rob Pate is believed to be next in line but there is a surprising candidate from left field.

That’s literally what’s being reported, I’m not sure what to make of it. The point of the post was that someone new is being announced, and not necessarily promoted from within which is relevant.

I think that would be a mistake. The guy loves Auburn, but I'll be really surprised if he's ready for that job.

I think Andy Bircham is a better option but I don’t have any insight to this or an opinion necessarily.

Auburn already has an analyst. They aren’t going to hire another similar guy like Pate. It has to be someone with play by play broadcasting experience.

Quentin Riggins would be great in the booth. They should bring him back

Rob Pate in not a play by play guy, I think you are thinking of Brad Law. I do not expect him to be named either, it will be Burcham.

Hope he's at least half as good as his predecessor.

Thanks Pio.

There will be some emotions and nerves shown during the first game for sure. There will also be some healing.
