"I have a source who says" is usually followed by unmitigated bullshite. This is a perfect example of that.

Sorry but this sounds more like an ITAT wish list post than real info from a true source.

Jimbo unahppy enough at FL St. to enter the SEC meat grinder. I don't think so.

I guess we'll see sooner or later.
It is hilarious that now the holier than thou aub nation is panting for Petrino while justifying it through Christian forgivness.

The buyout isn't paid all at once, your buddy must not be quite as in the know as he says. This pretty much looks just like every other message board bs I have read in the last few weeks.

It could just be just so they have it accounted for rather than giving him all upfront. I'd like to have it in place so I don't have to worry about scrounging it up later during something else. Like giving money to a new coach or paying his buyout.

Not that I'm banking on any of it, just what I was thinking...

any other earnings are deducted from the buyout price too. Chizik might not be head coaching material, but he will go back to coaching somewhere. He will either be a high level DC again (I doubt his ego allows it) or he will drop down a notch and grab a mid level head coaching gig with less expectations (my guess).

His buyout will be a chunk in either of these cases, but I would think at least 2 to 3 million will be taken off of it.

Jimbo was unhappy at FSU and HE contacted auburn through back channels

Instead of using the usual "front channels" when looking for a new job?

Anyway, this part of the story may actually be true, but it isn't so he can get a job at Auburn. It's so he can TRY to make FSU give him a raise.

And also it is very evident his source reads www.secrant.com. All of his inside info has been available here for a week or more

I remember when Alabama hired Saban a lot of the Auburn fans were chastising Alabama for "selling out" and hiring Saban only because he was a winner despite him being labled a liar and an a-hole. Wouldn't Auburn be doing the same thing by hiring Petrino?
