As far as basic offensive concept, what do you think your players would thrive in?

I know Gus wants to speed it up. However, with youth at the QB position being as green as it is.. it opens up the bag of potential mistakes and game changing frick ups.

After all, we've seen what BR does to green QBs running the formula one offense.

It all depends on who is the QB. If it's Gatewood, the RPO is going to be the offense.

I don't think Gatewood will be as gun-shy as JJ was. He's been in the system for 2 yrs, knows his oline and he's a big guy that can get a few yrds on his legs when needed.

Not that I doubt this is the line of thinking, but the season is a little over 2 weeks out and the QB battle as far as I can tell is still going on at Auburn’s camp. Is the RPO just already installed and ready to go?

A very roundabout way just to take a shot at JJ.

But I like it

Speed, speed, speed. That is what made Gus successful and he got away from it after 2014. He was burnt by Ellis Johnson and it caused him to get away from what brought him success. The Defense under Steele is to the point that he can afford to get back to it, even if he has to deal with a few 3 and outs.

You know, if it was any other team, but Auburn seems to do the best the bigger the questions are going into the season.

Both QB's can run the RPO, but I think Gatewood can run it better. I think Auburn knows who their QB is going to be, but has no intention of letting Oregon know until the game starts.

If he continues to sub continuously on offense then all that speed won't matter. If he continues to use the same personnel groupings for scripted plays, tipping his hand to the defense, then speed won't matter.

Dance with who brung ya, we haven't had a hurry up offense and dual qb since Marshall and outside of a couple games in 17 haven't had an explosive offense that could score on good defenses since. Let's ride

Ain't that the truth. An overlooked Auburn team has been known to do a lot of damage. But an Auburn team with high expectations is just so much fun.
