Is it common for dogs who are not service animals to be chilling in a campus building at Auburn? I dont think I could bring a dog into the Ferguson Center at UA unless it was a service animal. My point is that regardless of whether or not the dog was in a vest, shouldn't its presence within a university imply that it is a service dog?

shite, dont shoot the messenger..
Her reaction spurred their reaction and they didn't know she was suffering from PTSD. All a misunderstanding and a total over reaction that a little education and an apology should remedy.

Indeed. This should be a teachable moment, not a defendable one.

Do you really think that people know that it's a service dog just because it's in the building? Come on......

the fact fthat you continue to act as if this is some big deal is laughable considering tpos thugs your own school has taken and kept.
this girl obviously has some severe mental and emotional problems based on the interview linked in this thread. wouldnt surprise me if the issue was worse in her mind that it was in reality.
the fact that malzahn apologized doesnt mean much either. probably a better public relations move than getting in a public debate about whether the incident was really as bad as she claims.
bottom is little will likely happen to these players and little probably should happen to them. for a bammer of all people to suggest otherwise is laughable considering how your own football program has embraced far worse thugs

Does Auburn typically have animals chilling in campus buildings? I know we jokingly call you the cow college, but that's taking it a little too far.
When you see a dog in a place where dogs are typically prohibited, what is your first reaction?

I may think something like that now, but not when I was 17-19 years old.

A public apology is all that is needed, in addition to providing the players with a little education on the complexities of PTSD.
Move along now and get back to trashing us bammers and the dawgs about other useless shite from decades past.

I don't think it should matter in either case they are intimidating a fellow student for no other reason than to be an a$$. They are showing how they treat female's that are simply asking to be left alone. They have no respect for anyone but themselves an lack fundemental upbringing. This was in public how what would they have done to this female that talked back to them in private. I shudder to think

I'd venture to guess that the majority of the student population in Haley Center hadn't any more of a clue than those kids in my kitchen last night.

ok so your son didn't know would you then think it would be ok with him and his friends messing with a girl and her dog and when she asked them to stop would you also be ok with them intimidating and cussing this poor girl? The point isn't that she is a veteran or that she had PTSD its just a lack of moral fiber by a few members of Auburns football team. That doesn't mean the entire Auburn Football team is that way but the best way to keep cancer from spreading is to cut it out or kill it.

The majority of the AU students have treated her and her dog well. Can't say the same for the two ignorant thugs that don't belong on a University campus

Teaching them tolerance and understanding will benefit them throughout their lives - moreso than kicking them to the curb and providing no guidance or support.

That's not how this whole thing was presented. Her sister fired off almost 30 twitter posts to everyone from Cam Newton to Gus Malzahn and Toby Keith about AU football players were mistreating veterans. That's what the OP was going with when bringing this here, asking if AU players were mistreating veterans.
As previously stated, this is about two jackasses talking to a disabled female in a way they shouldn't have. But going on twitter with that scenario doesn't stoke the feelings like including the word veteran.
Which, in my opinion, is a disservice to actual veterans who are targeted for their service.

do you expect gus to have his players think logically? A normal person would use deductive reasoning but we are talking auburn football players here.
