Our pitching staff is legit. I’m guessing you know that as you already know Butch is the BOSS.

Will Holland, the Canadian Julien, Tanner Burns is the stud pitcher. Jack Owen if he can go game 2 is a stud as well. May be in some trouble if the shoulder tightness is something more than that.

Jake mangum of course is our best hitter but statistically Elijah Macnamee has the highest BA on the team at .380 pretty sure. Tanner Allen leads the team in RBI and probably has the best hitting power on the team. Ethan Small will be pitching Friday and he leads the SEC in strike outs with 51 through 5 games and 30 innings pitched with under 7 walked. He has good stuff but he wins most of his at bats with his command. JT Ginn will pitch Saturday and y’all hopefully will see why he was a first round draft pick. Should be a really fun series to watch in Starkville

Other than Tanner Burns who is indeed a stud:

3B Edouard Julien: great oppo power, has an improved approach at the plate this year, although he still strikes out a bit. Playing better at third than expected after DH last year.

1B Rankin Woley: Has hit well so far and played a decent 1B. Mostly a contact or doubles hitter.

SS Will Holland: Projected 1st round pick who has struggled some this year. Hit 12 homers last year and is looking for his 1st this year still. Still plays great defense at short.

LHP Jack Owen: Started the season in the pen, but has been outstanding as a starter on Saturdays. Recently had a 25 inning scoreless streak.

Steven Williams, Judd Ward, and a few bullpen arms have all been pretty good so far too and can take over a game.

Pitching

Tanner Burns (Friday guy) is the best pitcher in the country. Jack Owen (Saturday guy) is a youngins that has been lights out this year but had some arm tightness that pulled him from his last start. Bullpen guys Cody Green Hill and Elliot Anderson are elite. Sunday starter Carson Skipper is a frosh lefty with great stuff for his age.

Hitting/Defense
Rankin Woley leads the team in average and is surprisingly better than expected at 1B. MI of Bliss and Holland is lethal and lightning quick however both of their bats aren't what we expected. Edouard Julien is still raw at 3B but is a hammer at the plate. CF Kason Howell has a massive range and our LF Judd Ward has already gunned down 3 would be runs at the plate by 3 steps this year.

Right now I like Auburn to win Friday, lose Saturday, and who knows on Sunday. Likely State taking 2/3 at home.

Davis Daniel is still out which is huge. If Jack Owen is out we could be in trouble although we are pretty deep in the bullpen. Our bats have yet to really come around.

Auburn fans- I’m warning y’all now. You bring that slut that screams at the top of her lungs at football and basketball games and I will punch her in the trachea.
