They had no choice because of Joe Biden’s mandate for goverment contractors. (Research, Grants, etc). They had no choice as hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake.
Is this happening at other SEC schools?
I am ?? against the mandate. (I am fully vaccinated). My body, my choice.
I know this will turn political.
ETA: Will be curious to see what Harsin does.

I work for a massive (11k employees) healthcare system in metro Atlanta, but we don’t even have a mandate for the Covid shot.

They'll get at least a temporary reprieve. The Alabama AG has already announced he's going to file suit. I'm sure other states will as well.
Since you can't undo a shot, it's a virtual lock they'll get a TRO until the case can be heard.
It's going to be an interesting case. There's pretty much no question that a private employer has the right to require employees be vaccinated.
Like you, my major problem is the federal government requiring it - particularly using OSHA. That's an incredibly bad precedent that shouldn't stand. What's next? Declaring 'gun violence' (as if inanimate objects have the ability to act on their own) a public health crisis and bar those same groups from hiring gun owners in the name of workplace safety?
ETA - like you, I'm vaccinated. My problem is the federal mandate. It's plain wrong.

Kay Ivey and/or Steve Marshall need to step up and protect the people of Alabama, and they need to do it quickly

UAB very briefly tried to institute a mandate in Alabama, realized they'd lose so many employees they couldn't stay open, and said "yeah, about that mandate, you can forget we ever said it."

People need to set up a non profit organization to donate to that helps fund these things. Target places that refuse the mandate. You can write off charitable donations on taxes so it would in a way stick it to the federal govt

Biden is a stupid piece of shite and the only people more stupid are people that voted for him and are excited about him

People had the right to own slaves until they didn't. This is one of those things that we need to update and ban because it is immoral, unethical, and irresponsible for an employer to be involved in health decisions. No, private employers should not have any right to require employees to be vaccinated.

Agree 100%. Still not sure I made the right decision. At least they're talking boosters - which means thankfully this thing wears out over time.
