Alabama’s 5 stars in that time frame are:

Reuben Foster
Derrick Henry
Jonathan Allen
OJ Howard
Robert Foster
A’Shawn Robinson
Cam Robinson
DeShaun Hand
Tony Brown
Marlon Humphrey
Rahsaan Evans
Calvin Ridley
Damien Harris
Daron Payne
Kendall Sheffield
Blake Barnett
Minkah Fitzpatrick
Ben Davis
Mack Wilson
Jonah Williams
Najee Harris
Alex Leatherwood
Dylan Moses
Jerry Jeudy
Labrayan Ray
Tua Tagovailoa
Eyabi Anoma
Patrick Surtain

1. Holy crap that’s a lot of 5 stars
2. There are fewer busts/transfers on that list with 4 times as many players

Jesus if Auburn ever makes the Saban/Meyer type hire they will win multiple natties. Look at what they’ve done the past ten years with two mediocre coaches, all while sharing a state with the GOAT. They have to be the biggest sleeping giant in CFB

But if they hire a Saban/Meyer type they will inevitably be ranked high every year and then go 9-3 or 8-4 and get that guy fired. Anything praised coming into a career/season at Auburn fails. Only things with little fanfare then proceed to produce insane things. That's Auburn.

Itsofaco not ranked going in 2019 with Gus on the hot seat and zero expectations..........will go 11-1 and win 3 games on fumblerooskies.

Fear of Auburn only exists in seasons when they are picked in the preseason to be mediocre in a season in which we have to play @ Auburn

Honestly though when is the last time they had a truly elite coach? Have they ever? Tuberville was not

I've pretty much given up trying to argue this point. But the "Bama bust" moniker couldn't be more undeserved.

At its height, it was ridiculous. But it becomes more and more misplaced with each passing year.

The AU Administration won't wake that sleeping giant as long as they piss around. They can't make a Saban/Meyer type hire.

Instead, they let a couple of big $$ PTB work behind the scenes, trying to jack around with the HC's contract they were less than a year inking and leaking minute by minute details from within the AD, "the money's there to buy him out" then they go all limp dick in the end.

The lame duck HC with an absolute brutal schedule in front of him proceeds to fill his staff with a 28 yr old Dillingham & Caddy Williams straight from the high school ranks. The HC has 100% control of the offense, he's workin with a green QB & an oline coached by a old geezer who all need a serious shot of PEDs. Yeah, I see fear from the SEC programs.

I understand what you are saying, and as a whole I agree with you.

But most say that as it pertains to NFL production, and not where they were drafted. As for me personally? I don't get tons of satisfaction if our ex players kill it in the NFL. It's nice, but I want results in college....and Alabama gets that.

To those people who like to call Alabama players busts in the NFL, I can only say they won National Championships in college, so apparently Saban and company got he best out of their NFL busts.
