Does it upset the vol fans that Aubrey Solomon is yet to have his waiver cleared with guys like Bru McCoy, Tathan Martell, and Justin Fields getting their waivers approved without a sweat? Seems like with Emmit Gooden's injury that Solomon's waiver is urgent. And how likely do you think he gets cleared?

The most troublesome thing about the transfer portal is that it's a black box and the peons are given no access to the true process by which decisions are made. Just like how our government works.

If I’m not mistaken, Solomon was denied and appealed.

Why the hell should anyone except the player, his family, and the coaches involved be privy to that information?

Because transparency is the one and only enemy of corruption. If you don't understand that, then we have nothing else to discuss.

It’s annoying, but the ncaa is riddled with both hypocrisy and ineptitude so it’s no surprise.

But total transparency equals invisibility......

Surprisingly enough, some expect to hear good news on that front very soon.

I mean, that's cool and all...but we're talking about a 17, 18, or 19 year old's choice of transferring universities. We aren't talking about some legislative proceeding or investigation. This is the same bullshite argument about deserving to get more in-depth injury updates.

You're a fan. Enjoy the games. Try to get whatever you can out of beat writers and "insiders." These players owe you nothing when it comes to letting you know what schools they are considering in a transfer or anything else except what they put on the field every Saturday in the fall.

ETA: If you want more transparency from the NCAA waiver process (and many of their other processes), that's totally separate from transparency about the transfer portal. The portal is just where players can put their names to be contacted by other universities. The waiver process is completely separate and only occurs once the transfer is completed. I'm all for a more transparent NCAA on that stuff.
