on both LOS. All five starters return (3 are 5th year seniors) on the OL and the DL is loaded and experienced with a couple of first rounders. They have some receivers and one of the best defensive coaches in the country in Steele. They will beat Oregon and LSU in BR and the bayou will explode on O. And have UGA and Bama at home. Key is to not pull an auburn some place else along the way. But this is what they do. Build for a special year and then fall back. Willis is a good athlete @ QB and Nix will be the real deal @ some point. Great kid who has been been nurtured for this. And he will bring some stability to the program at some point.
UGA is loaded and Bama is a bit thinner than some years but if they stay healthy...boom! They have some stud ducks on the one's. And that qb and those receivers will show out. LSU will play them close in Tuscaloosa. Muschamp will get somebody along the way, Pruitt's team is 2 years away but Fisher will have the Aggies up and going in a year or so. The SEC will be a monster by 2020. The Mississippi schools, Arky, Vandy, Uk Mizzou won't have a prayer by then. So there you go.

Wow sounds like they’ll bully Oregon. Just like every decent SEC team that’s ever played them

No. Every week he spends in fall camp taking snaps at QB = 1 more loss for Auburn.
He can’t throw.

I will start before Willis.
It’s over for him.
Gatewood and Nix will battle this out.
You are fishing with a big shiny, rhinestoned, and glittered hook.

Those draft eligible, elite defensive linemen that decided to stay at AU for their senior seasons is huge for Auburn’s 2019 defense. Had those underclass men left for the NFL, AU would have been screwed on defense. Auburn will beat two teams they were expected to lose to and lose to one of two teams they were favored to beat. Malzahn will win enough games to be the HC at AU in 2020 as well. He won’t be fired.

Hide and watch. AU under Malzahn is dangerous when they have an athlete at QB. Is it Willis? Maybe, maybe not. Nix is gonna be good but he's not gonna beat Alabama or Georgia either throwing the ball at this point. The wild card might be one of the two others but Willis has played and he can run the football. Malzahn won with a db running his offense but he just lost 10 games or so with a guy who will play in the NFL in 2 seasons.
Where their edge is lies on both LOS. They have this one year window and a solid OL/DL coaching combo. They have a chance.

It wouldn't shock me if they have a great year. Every high they have had since the Chizik era has coincided with an experienced OL and every low that followed has had a huge dropoff at OL.

Malzahn wins about 66% of his games at Auburn, even counting that first year of 12-2, and I expect that's about how they'll do this season. 8&4 regular season.

Malzahn = Muschamp of the Offense

au had one of the worst offensive lines in the country last year

Returning all starters from a bad offensive line = a bad offensive line.

At the end of the year they were greatly improved. Grimes the old salt OL coach took that thing over and put a very good unit on the field at the wire. They gave Bama some problems then just assaulted Purdue in a bowl. Something like 55 points in the first half. The ball ain't round but I can tell you they will be rough as a corncob on a raw arse on both sides of the football up front.

Coming from a fragile, light footed little leftist loser I consider that a compliment.

Oregon returns 155 starts on the OL. Also, they’re big boys. I am sure we’ll get knocked around but Cristobal and Chip Kelly have different ideas about what they want in an OL.
