impressions of how your team will fare this year in best case and worst case scenario within reason (we all know that technically we could all go undefeated or all go winless, but what do you think is likely the worst you could do and likely the best you could do assuming you'll not have any major injuries, since we can't really predict those). I'm just gonna predict it for the 12 games I know we're playing.

UGA: Best likely scenario is 12-0. We played for it all last year. We're returning a great deal of the offensive line and look to be in great shape to replace the one guy who is gone. The RBs will be as talented if not as experienced. The WRs may be better as a unit. Our freshman QB is now a sophomore.
The defense has some big shoes to feel, but many feel the replacements for Bellamy and LC are better edge rushers. There is no replacing RS, but there is talent behind him that can play at an elite level in the SEC. Our weak link, that ultimately snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, may be much stronger this year. Our younger dbs that needed to mature are more talented that the experienced ones that are gone. Our one shutdown corner returns. And while it may seem odd that you can lose a bunch off of a unit that was good, but not great and be great the next year, that's certainly what happened on our Oline from 2016 to 2017.

The worst likely scenario: We go 9-3. We miss the leadership of those seniors going in the first three rounds of the NFL draft and no one really steps into that role naturally. We lose three of the four games that I feel are possible to lose (SC, LSU, UF and Auburn).

Which is more probable to happen: Obviously, somewhere in the middle, but if I had to choose which is more likely between 9-3 and 12-0, I'm going 12-0. At least preseason, we're likely to be favored in every game on the schedule with the possible exception of LSU in BR.

Which of your incoming recruits is most likely to make a big splash?: If he hadn't gotten injured I'd go with Zamir White, the nation's no. 1 running back out of high school. But he's recovering from an ACL tear. So considering that, I'll go with Olineman, Jamaree Salyer. His coach says he's the most ready high school kid he's ever had. Our All SEC freshman team, starting right tackle from last year played under the same coach. So that's pretty high praise.

Which non starter from last year do you expect to be amazing this year? The easy answer here would be D'Andre Swift. That's our 3rd string tailback who had over 700 yards from scrimmage sitting behind Chubb and Sony. But I'm gonna go on defense and say it's another D'Andre. D'Andre Walker ranked second on the team in TFL and sacks to Roquan Smith and he played far few snaps than either Lorenzo Carter or Davin Bellamy who combined only had one and a half more TFL than Walker.

I'd say we have the talent to be SEC Champs, but the 2 road games against uga and bama at the end of the season loom large. Our D should be close to the same...hoping our O takes a step further in controlling the line of scrimmage.

Likely...9-3 with a chance to win 10 games in our bowl game. If we can beat Washington early then I suspect it could grow into a special season.

We return enough talent to hopefully win at least 5 games (Southern Illinois, Kent State, ULM, Texas Tech, at least 1 SEC game). Hopefully we can steal 1 or 2 more, but I'll have to wait and see how Ta'amu develops over the spring and who is going to run the ball for us - Jordan Wilkins was an underrated back and was a 1,000 yard rusher for us last season, our first since Dexter.

Best case - Ta'amu plays well, RB's are fine, WR's dominate, defense finds some black magic, and we win 8-9 games.

Worst case - We drop the first game of the year against Texas Tech, Ta'amu doesn't get better, lack of experience at RB shows, offensive line sucks, defense sucks even harder than last year, and we win 3-4 games.

how confident are you that you'll have replacement for KJ and CP that can be that good?

I have zero expectations for LSU, but am prepared to talk shite if we start winning games. Nothing new in Baton Rouge.

Incompetent Coach
Questions at QB
Stout Defense

How did Ole Miss fans take to Patterson's departure? That kid looked like the real deal. I really hated to see him leave the conference.

Were you sorta expecting it and understand it considering the situation or is there a lot of resentment?

I am confident. I don't put a ton of stock in the importance of the RB position and Gus' history shows that to be true. Our issue last season was poor OL play. KJ playing well disguised that issue and allowed the RPO's and passing game to work. When KJ was out or not playing 100% our OL struggled and the rest of the O followed.

I am less confident in the OL. IMO we are significantly more talented at every position than we have been the last 2 years except at RG. Will Grimes develop the talent? Who knows. The OL will be the difference between 9 wins and the potential of championship level football.

I am also excited about returning JS. Having a returning QB at Auburn that has championship level talent is a Yeti like experience.

We all understood it. He was the #1 QB in the country and has a lot of talent, why waste it where he has no chance of winning anything meaningful?

On a different note, Shea underperformed at times. Tried to be too much of a highlight reel rather than play QB in our system. Didn't hurt too bad to see him go considering who we had on the bench waiting to take his place.

No doubt that Malzahn has produced some great RBs while he's been there. You've had the top RB in YPG average four of the past five years in the conference. However, the one year you didn't was obviously Malzahn's worst. Granted, you didn't have much at QB to work with that year either. Was just wondering if one of your guys is looking like he's ready to take that mantle.

We're not natural rivals, so that might have something to do with it. But LSU fans crack me up, no matter what message boards I find them on.

I chuckled aloud at your "I'm prepared to talk shite" line.

The "advantage LSU" post from Rivals in 2011 is still legendary on UGA boards. Some guy broke down the matchup of UGA vs. LSU in the SECCG before it was played. Obviously, it was to your advantage in most cases anyway. But he'd compare Murray's passing stats to your QBs that year (the only weak link on your team) and still said "advantage LSU". Great sense of humor.

And of course, everyone knows LSUfreek.

It's always hard to predict the bowls because you have no idea who you will match up against. If Tennessee can beat WVU, they should be 3-0 facing UF in Neyland. 9-3 is probably the absolute best you could hope, but I'd put the over/under at 7 wins.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't UGA entering Death Valley on 10/13/18? We rivals this year, baw. And in the words of our gumbo-flavored leader - We comin, we comin, and we ain't backing down.

Best case scenario

Derek Dooley puts his aloof southern charm all over a very talented group of returning offensive players and we have the best offense in the league.

Odom, in year 3, finally has enough of his players in place to effectively run the defense he wants to run anchored by a very strong DL and veteran LB corps.

We go 10-2 and get a NY6 bowl.

Worst case scenario

The offense doesn't gel at all and we waste a ton of talent. The defense still isn't up to par.

We win 4-5 games and the fanbase is calling for Odom's head again.

I don't take anything from spring practice because it is pointless to try and take anything from spring practice.
