I mean, y'all did read that statement, right? LSU independently made the decision to suspend him and then reinstate him. He has not been cleared by the NCAA.

"Smart was held out of the regular season finale against Vanderbilt out of an abundance of caution in cooperation with the NCAA. Though the inquiry is not closed, after multiple additional interviews, there has been no wrongdoing identified to date. As a result, and because of his full cooperation and transparency in this matter, Smart has been cleared by university officials for play on Friday."

Honestly it's totally reasonable for someone to do so. Justice for SECR LSU Shitposters.

Where does that statement say that Smart was suspended?
Posted on 3/15/19 at 11:09 am to civiltiger07
Held out, suspended, whatever. Point is that the university made both decisions unilaterally.

I don't want you to say anything. But HJ's is what you see in this pic?
Not that I'm judging, just find it odd you would post this.

I will try to keep this thread updated with the most recent happenings and a general running timeline.
I have a job that prevents me from posting at times due to federal regulations. Not that LSU fans care about federal regulations all of a sudden. I just thought I'd offer an explanation.
Also, there is literally nothing in the OP that even mentions Smart being held out or suspended or whatever you want to call it, so I'm not sure why you people were so desperate for an update - but there you go.

No, he wasn't. The NCAA hasn't made any decision yet. As the statement says, the inquiry is ongoing. It was LSU's call to hold him out, and LSU's call to go ahead and play him based on the information he gave them. There was also a thinly veiled shot at Will Wade in the last line, I think.
In any event, it's always the university's call on whether to play a kid while the NCAA investigates. Based on the information they have, they have decided to roll the dice on Smart. If he turns out to be ineligible, there will be consequences. If not, then they will come out smelling like a rose.
