As of right now, it's Bianco or Godwin for LSU

The LSU boosters that wanted Sully want Godwin, and the Bertman gang wants Bianco. In the end, I think LSU hires Godwin.

Bianco is a proven commodity. That commodity is to be pretty good. Occasionally greatish. Occasionally meh. Rarely bad. You can argue about Lsu being a better job than Ole Miss, but they're at least very comparable. Ole Miss is in the same division, has a ton of support, and plus facilities. I don't think just moving from one to the other changes much. If I am Lsu fan, I am all in on Godwin if the other option is Bianco. There is at least an unknown ceiling with Godwin. He was groomed by several top tier coaches and now built up a strong program at ECU.
Now neither are on the same level as the original top choices Sully & Casey (has his warts for sure), but Godwin would still be a very very good hire. I would have been happy with A&M hiring him if we missed on Schloss.

Would be a mistake to hire Godwin. Hire Bianco.

This isn't about who is interested in the job. McDonnell may be offered the job down the road but as of right now there isn't any indication he's a prime candidate.
