Arky "Hot Start" - Smoke and Mirrors

I can't help but laugh at media today. It's truly amazing. It's like poison....and it even leaks into sports. I heard of this absolutely hilarious and laughable "Arkansas is the 2nd best team in the west" agenda that is being driven. I saw infection's post earlier and I couldn't agree more but let's give just one more brief summary of the "miracle run" of Arkansas at the moment before they come grumbling back to the ground of reality very soon.
Arkansas is 2-2. You can say they should be 3-1 all you want but even in there best game they have played against Auburn.....Auburn completely out played them and they were easily the better team. The magic juju following that team like things silly has a muffed spiked down simply didn't quite come through for them.
Arkansas vs Georgia - First game after a very strange Covid offseason. Arkansas has a new look and no tape to go off for anyone. Georgia walks out with a Freshman QB that was absolutely horrid and in no way shape or form ready. They go into half up 7-5. Georgia then makes a change at half and the Bulldogs racked up 290 yards of offenseaand 32 points in one half of football..........one half. They beat them 32-3 in the second half.
Arkansas vs Miss St - The toilet bowl of 2 bad footabll teams where Miss St actually completely dominated the game. Miss St had 24 vs 17 first downs. 400 yards vs 275 yard on offense. Won the TOP 36:20 to 23:40. Costello (who we just murdered) threw for over 300 yards in that football game. Yet....the miracle gods that have looked down on poor Arkansas provided them a pick 6 and 3 other turnovers (2 in scoring range) and Arkansas squeaks out the miracle win.
Arkansas vs Auburn - Definitely the best game Arkansas has played to date. An Auburn team that looks very disappointing still controlled the football game the entire time. The ole football gods did everything they could to let Arkansas win. Auburn missed a chip shot field goal with only 2:51 left to play. Somehow....the arkansas offense was only able to produce a miraculous 2 yard 3 and out drive gave the ball right back to Auburn. But the football gods were not done yet. With the game in hand somehow Bo nix fumbled the football on a spike to call stop the clock............I mean is everyone picking up on how lucky this nonsense has been so far? Refs missed the call. Auburn (and very much the better team) won the football game.
Arkansas vs Ole Miss - The most ridiculous game I think I've ever watched in college football and Lane Kiffin should be humiliated. An Ole Miss offense that ran the ball for 250 yards and was averaging 5 yards a pop threw 6 interceptions..............2 of those ended up being 14 points for Arkansas. That is not all........this Ole Miss offense that still somehow put up 450 yards of offense with 8 total turnovers was stopped within the 5 not once......but twice.....where Kiffin decided to go for it both times.
After all of this disaster mess...............just absolutely putrid play by Ole Miss..........they STILL.....STILL got the ball back with a little over 3 minutes to go and a chance to win the football game only down 21-26.
That is right folks......if Lane Kiffin would have simply kicked his chip shot fields from within the 5 Ole Miss would have beat Arkansas with 5 interceptions and a pick 6 going against them. But oh no. Ole Lane Kiffin and Matt Corral got the ball back with a chance to win the game and threw the 2nd pick six of the day to lose 33-21...............
You can't make this stuff up. Is the Arkansas defense better? Absolutely yes. No questioin. Barry Odom is an elite DC and Grant Morgan and Jalen Catalon (yes remember the kid we were recruiting) look to be VERY good defenders. Arkansas fans should be thrilled with the effort they have seen on that side of the ball and excited for the future as long as Odom sticks around. But this is still not a good football team. Complete smoke and mirrors happening right now. The delusion that is being talked about with this football team is absolutely amazing.
Could they beat us? Sure...it could happen. Better teams lose to worse teams all the time in CFB. But the only way they are going to beat us is we are going to have to help them. If we play a good football game we are light years ahead of this football team and we should soundly and comfortably walk away in a game similar to Miss st.

Yes. I don’t think we are particularly good yet either, but we’re a hell of a lot better than we have been. I’ll take it. Still not scared of the ags tho. Not claiming victory but truthfully y’all ain’t Bama either so...

Here's the thing folks, Arkansas has been laughably terrible for so long now that any semblance of success (a win over a horrible State team and a demoralized Ole Miss team) has everyone thinking they're a good team now. It's all relative. This is all further proof that most sports media people do not watch most games.

This is getting into the creepy internet stalker realm. We aren't even playing this weekend. You are just A&M. If we beat you great. Its like beating Moo State. If we lose ah well, a stumble during a rebuilding year but no biggy.

What you Aggies fail to realize is Arkansas is playing with house money. We have exceeded expectations for the year already. We absolutely nothing to lose in this game and for the rest of the season. We are not going to win the West but we can cause chaos with everyone else's schedule and ruin their season. We comin to your house next week and fixin to "frick yo couch".
