I think they've mostly checked out now that they're definitively sucking hind tit behind even Tennessee.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but it helps that even dumpster fires look at Arkansas with pity.

No matter what Gus did, we didn't have to to hire Chad Morris. No one to blame for that except the Tulsa AD.

Probably the same way you feel about Oakland. lol

Gus was never going to come here. Whether it's deserved or not, there's too much bad blood with the GOBN from his time here with Nutt.
He'd be a better coach than Bielema and Morris but the fan base would be somewhat divided from the start. I don't get the fascination with him anyway. He was successful here, sure. But we had done generational talent. Matt Jones, McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis.
We had a lot of success with the wildcat that they came up with but once defenses figured it out that stopped having the same level of success. It's more of a gimmick play that you throw at a defense a couple times a game maybe.
There are people who want Gus to come back just like there are people who still want Petrino and even Nutt to come back. Those ships have sailed.

Auburn's year in and out soap opera with Gus Malzahn only featured us last season. Morris' recruiting is enough to keep reasonable fans content at the moment. Dude better win more than 2 fricking football games next year though.

I'll go on record as saying I'm fine with Morris. I know what Traylor is doing as well.

Pissed?
No. I find it funny and fitting that Auburn has Gus and his buyout.
We have an unproven but promising coach that seems to be doing what he needs to build the program via recruiting.
Winning 2 games isn't gonna cut it ever again, but even the most ridiculous fans only think we should have won 4 or 5. Big whoop. I'm personally glad he focused on recruiting and the future. Smart enough to realize this was a lost year anyway.
If the mouth breather fans who have Bama like expectations for a program that is barely breathing will get off his back...he might make serious progress.

If Gus can't win with top 10 recruiting classes at Auburn, what would he do at Arkansas?

As a fan I can't deny some things. Bert can only get me so far. He can't take all the blame. And because of that I saw Chad and his coaches sincerely hold almost all of the kids accountable and mostly happy. That's a big fricking job. I have to see what 19 holds.

We're just drainin' the swamp baw

I think many on here overestimate Malzahn's popularity in Arkansas. I'd say that at least half the fan base never wanted him, so they certainly won't be pissed. The only fans who might actually be pissed are those who think Gus hung the moon, and those idiots deserve to be pissed, but at themselves for being so fricking stupid.

Not even a little bit. We never wanted Gus. Most of us anyway.

I was pissed about the Morris hire, and still think he couldn't coach a player to pour piss out of a boot......but it seems as though maybe he can recruit (hopefully).
But I would take Morris over Gustavo every day for the rest of my life. Gustavo is likely the better coach, but the fact that he uses his players as sacrificial lambs for his pocketbook and cries like a little b*tch when he loses does it for me. Cant handle that BS
