The refs were stopping them from making baskets

Refs favored UNC in both games but they didn't stop ball from going into the little basket for 5 minutes

We just ran out of gas and had some bad calls go against us. Kentucky, a very good team, played really bad defense down the stretch. It happens. I really thought Kentucky would wipe the floor with UNC but that is why you play the games.

I didn't. I wanted to see Kentucky win but they barely beat North Carolina in their first matchup and it was with Monk dropping 47, and UNC's best defender out. Kentucky got better as the season went on, but North Carolina also got better.

Lightning does strike twice. I thought UNC was left for dead 2 games in a row but they find lightning in the bottle in the end. Damn you Roy Williams.

Kentucky got more than their fair share of beneficial calls against UNC.

They just fricking blew it.

Kentucky - 19 fouls
UNC - 18 fouls

The similarities between the two runs were crazy. Arkansas was up 65-60 when UNC started their 12-0 run and Kentucky was up 64-59 when UNC went off against them. Both started near the 3 minute mark.

Difference is,if UNC had sent us to the line that much we would have run away with it...UK blew it on free throws

Fouls can be balanced and still badly called

Connecticut women have gotten this love for years

Best player or 2 of opponent get in foul trouble early and hurts them as game progresses

UK had Willis, Monk, and Fox with 4 each
UNC had no players with 4 and only 2 with 3 so no player on team was in foul danger

Sure would've helped Kentucky if three of their starters weren't on the bench for most of the first half in foul trouble.

Conditioning helped them in the end. It's hallmark of Roy William teams. Too bad Arkansas no longer has Richardson. His teams were the same way.

Anyone who doesn't say the officials affected the outcomes of both games is a fool. Arky in particular at the end.

No shame in losing to the eventual champs.

Officials affect the outcome of every game. That's a constant. Fans are absolutely convinced their team (or the team they're rooting for) was the sole victim, without fail. That's also a constant.

Agreed. It was suspect to say the least.
