Arkansas will not make a big name hire

Per 2 different sources.
PTB source- tells me that ChexMex understands that the System wants to curtail their outrageous coaching contracts.
Sports agent source- Chris Beard wont be coaching UofA-Fayetteville. Sampson is in play, but he's fielding multple offers from P5 schools. Also said Arkansas budget may determine if they can lure Sampson away and from other offers.
Also said look for ChexMex to go the Chad Morris route. Up and comer, tenacious recruiter type.
My take: if Sampson falls through, look for Brannen or the Cincinnati coach to be hired.
Long shot may be Stevie Alford, but I seriously doubt it.

Doesn't have to be a big name hire..just a great one.
Case in point, Will Wade, won two to three times as many games as expected in Season 1 when predicted dead last by pundits, then Yr 2 with a good signing class wins the SEC outright when picked 6th preseason.

The sexiest hire isn’t always the best hire, and Arkansas will basically have their pick of the litter.
Arkansas is a bigtime hoops school in a top conference.
They’ve been doin’ their due diligence for months now.
Whether any fan considers the hire to be a “big name” before he’s announced isn’t as relevant as the fact that he’ll instantaneously become a big name after he’s announced as the HC at U of A.
I’m intrigued to see what they do.

Its well documented that I let this board know about the Petrino hire, Mike Anderson hiring and firing, Jeff Long being terminated and the GOBN, along with the PTB would fire fat Bert, all before the media broke it.

My opinion and what my sources share are 2 different things.
As I understand with the Mike Anderson situation, was the PTB where behind ChexMex, regardless of which way he went with Mike.
Media reports claim that he was probably going to get another year, but that his review determined his own fate.
My PTB has his own thoughts, but is only one of a dozen that are involved with the System and my agent buddy gets his info through his channels. He was directly involved in one of our coaches.

No way Arkansas goes cheap on this hire. I'd be shocked if the AD doesn't lure in a strong candidate to try and get on level footing with the upper half of the league.
