Arkansas: Was Bielema's contested Buyout a turnoff to other coaches?

I wonder if Arkansas contesting its buyout of Bret Bielema hurt their chances of attracting a big name coach. No coach wants to be fired, but if they do they want what's owed to them. Seems maybe Arkansas being petty with Bielema may have hurt them attracting some bigger name coach. If a University wants to fire a coach without cause, then just pay the man what you owe him or don't fire him at all.

Not the real reason for this failure. It was Chad Morris that went backwards and it sure did leave an undesired place for coaches to want to play there. Also playing in a top SEC west division that have already have things pretty set. It is harder to overcome those things without getting the chance to rebuild the football program when given a short time to make it competitive again.

People will pretend like they know the answer but the most likely reason was being one of the worst football teams in the country the last 3 years and having to rebuild a program in the toughest division in football. We don't have to come up with extra reasons as to why this would turn a ton of coaches off.

If you were an up and coming HC would you want to coach for a school that tries to punk out of a buyout and will can you after just a year and a half into a full rebuild?

No it's probably due to Arkansas being a really hard job at the moment. Our program is in shambles and our AD was offering incentive based contracts instead of guaranteed money/time. The only guys you can get like that are people who just seriously want the Arkansas job or coaches who would never get the chance otherwise. It is what it is at this point. Maybe we'll get lucky or maybe I'll die of alcohol poisoning in a few years
