A diamond in the rough for sure for what he's doing at ULL
Not sure if success there will translate but I would definitely give him an interview or at least kick the tires on him
Who knows with former Saban assistants but he's proved his worth outside the Saban shadow

We aren’t going up and comer this time.

Much more likely a guy like Hugh Freeze. It’s rehab time in Fayetteville.

People said the same thing about Hudspeth. Success at ULL can be misleading.

Freeze is not leaving Liberty for a very long time. He’s gonna be there for 3 years minimum. He would do really well at Arkansas and have them competing pretty quickly. But its not happening. Not now anyway.

What makes you say that? If Norvell leaves, he will likely be the first choice to replace him at Memphis.

It's going to be a long, long time before Freeze is ever considered for a P5 head coaching job. Especially the SEC.

Arkansas should give John L. Smith another chance to succeed in life.

He loves it there (Liberty). Feels like he can build something special. Has almost unlimited resources to get things done. Liberty can pay him whatever he wants, and Falwell has a clear vision/mission to build Liberty into a big time program sooner rather than later. The facilities are already P5 quality, and they are in the process of building even more. They embraced him when other wouldn’t, and I know that’s important to him.

Not saying he will never leave, but its gonna be a while. And that’s not because he cant get a P5 gig at this point. He’s going to have plenty of options over the next couple years.
