Arkansas praying for Auburn's sloppy seconds is one of the oddest trends

Arkansas - seriously, the only way Gus ends up at Arkansas is if Auburn fires him.

Let's be honest guys - AU job > > > Arkansas job. It just is, so stop pretending they're on par with each other - and I'm an Alabama fan, so trust me when I say it as I have no love for Auburn. If this were the 70s, then the argument might swing the other way, but at least since the 90s Auburn has been head and shoulders better a destination than Arkansas. Minimum.

It's just... weird, honestly. You're so desperate to get rid of Bert that you'd take Auburn's hand-me-downs, and that's...

Well, it's just sad. You're a storied program, act like it.

You say this but does anyone know what Gus would do if Arkansas is willing to pay him a shite ton of money?

I don't think people assume Gus' decision has anything to do with the quality of the two programs.

I've been to AU games. The campus is nice, and it's relatively close to Atlanta (via Newnan) and Montgomery. I mean, it's not quite as nice as UGA's campus, but it's right up there as far as SEC campuses go.

If a man wants to go home, you can’t blame him. I don’t see an issue with it honestly. To him, it is a job. He has plenty of money, so that isn’t a factor. He might have elderly parents or something pulling him back. Lots of variables.

I don't think Auburn is that much better of a job. Recent history, sure.

If Gus comes to Fayetteville (personally I'd rather get Norvell from UM), it will be due to his family ties to the area and the fact that living in Northwest Arkansas is 10x better than living in SE Alabama/West Georgia.

I'm fricking loving it. After listening to 5 years of them with the Gus/hate obsession, it's beautiful seeing some do a complete 180 while others are hanging on to the Gus hate with all they've got.

Why would they? That would be stupid on their part.

that’s the whole point OP. Auburn is too good of a job for Gus. You have to know your own limitations I guess.

As someone who has never cared either way, this last week has forced me to hate him.

I would not want a coach that took my job because he didnt think he could cut it at a bigger program cause of the pressure to win.
