Between Morris and Bielema.

I know the Bielema buyout has been halted but court will likely cause them to pay it.

Is wal-mart that strong among the boosters to still get a big name in there next season?

It gets expensive thinking you’re not Arky when you’re still Arky.

See, they DO have money. They should have just payed more for an established coach instead of settling like a poor program does

Gonna have to ask you to prove him wrong. What’s the issue with him pointing out the truth?

Sigh.

I really need to save this to a document file so I can just copy and paste it.

We aren't paying Bert any more because he broke the terms of the contract by not trying to find a job of equal pay and importance. If he had made a vague effort we'd still be on the hook but he was too lazy to do so. We cut him off months ago.

Providing Aggie Chad meets the terms of his contract we will have to pay him. Oh noes! Except that keeping him would have cost us more money then firing him since he'd driven attendance down so badly.

So this end of the world financial scenario is actually a net positive for us at the moment.

Maybe I can get the admins to sticky post this?

You will pay Bert - you will settle with him just to avoid the negative publicity

We haven't so far and the case will be decided in Washington County, Arkansas. I like our chances in that court venue.

If he had made a vague effort to land another job equal to the Arkansas one, just a tiny effort, we'd still be on the hook. He did not, which means he violated the terms of his contract. We are, in fact, counter suing to get back the 4 million we paid him before we cut him off.

I never understood the concept of guaranteeing millions to a person to get rid of them if they fail.

There should be some kind of parameters around it, such as you have to have x number of winning seasons or above an overall .500 record at termination to get a buyout. No way should someone like Morris who failed miserably get millions for doing basically nothing

The bottom line is that there is so much money in college football nowadays that the massive buyouts are necessary to secure sought after coaches.

It’s why LSU guaranteed their DC 10 million.

I predict Jerry will install Jason Garrett as Arky coach, so he can get a new one in Dallas.

There are more programs capable of success than there are coaches who can deliver it. It’s really just that simple.
