Why not? The Morris experiment is over. Arky needs someone who understands recruiting the way Lane Kiffin does. Would be a great fit, the guy knows offense, what he did at Alabama as an Offensive coordinator was innovative but always maximized the player’s strengths.

Arkansas lacks in recruiting and he was Nick’s 2nd best recruiter behind Kirby at Alabama.
Simple as that.

At least one more in this case. USC has other issues going on, notice how bad they have been even way after him. He had Tennessee headed in the right direction and was recruiting very well. There is a reason Tennessee fans felt so slighted. He was a good OC at Bama.

Mike Leach may be the correct answer...He can win at places that are hard to recruit to.
Texas Tech, Wazzo and Arkansas are similar in that way.

He is a solid OC not denying that...
Different story as a HC. He is despised everywhere he has been a HC. What does that tell you? Not to mention mostly horrible results: USC, Raiders and now FAU. Tennessee wasn’t looking horrible but he back stabbed them after just one year... look at them now. Someone acting like that is deserving of a 22nd chance? C’mon
I wouldn’t mind him as an OC but anyone that hires him as a HC deserves what would come.

Good points. But the Oakland thing was when Al Davis still ran stuff like Jerry Jones. USC is a dumpster fire in general and not getting Urban Meyer. They sound like excuses but are valid. And what does Arkansas have to lose? They lost to San Jose 24-7

Leach is on the decline. His 5 mins of fame will be over soon IMO. He would probably piss me off more than morris if he lost and picked his nose the whole time. Hes at and hasn't left Wazzu for a reason.

He lived in Arkansas for a little bit as a kid when Monte was a position coach under Lou Holtz I’m pretty sure.
He wanted the job bad back when we hired Petrino and supposedly punched his fist through a wall when he didn’t get it. Probably been interviewed several times.
