the difference is Les is either too laid back to let it get to him or he's good at biting his tongue. Bielema comes across as someone who can't control his reaction to criticism, which is scary.

yeah Les probably doesn't GAF about whatever people tell him. He's like, man two SEC titles and a NC. 10 win seasons. 3.7 million dollars a year. I'll take the heat.

He's said that around July he checks off twitter unless there's some big football news

For real. I don't mind some trollin on twitter but he does seem like doesn't respond well to criticism. If it ever gets out of hand I'm sure Jeff Long will tell him to shut up.

I'd be willing to bet Les still wouldn't give a frick without those things mentioned. He really doesn't give a frick about many things. He doesn't even care about clocks, why the frick would he care about what fans say on Twitter. I hope Bert takes notes.

you know, he catches a lot of shite for that but I'm starting to put it more on Crowton. Happened at least twice while he was here and hasn't happened since he's been gone or before he was here.

In all honestly, I think it was more the lack of communication and/or agreement between him and Crowton. The Ole Miss game is the prime example.
Les' few "flaws" as a coach are very straightforward. He's beyond loyal to players and would rather hype a player into straight beating his opponent 1 on 1 rather than scheming (not all the time but just in general). You could alsoargue these are some of his best qualities so the end result to judge is simply W's and L's. And that goofy bastard has provided a shite ton of W's.

People say the same thing about Bielema because of their two last minute Rose Bowl losses and it was more likely an issue with Paul Chryst as well.

From what I understand, Bielema has very little to do with play calling and especially on offense. Obviously he has veto power but for the most part he seems to let his coordinators coordinate. I always figured Les was the same way.

Yeah that's why I've thought it was laughable that Wisconsin fans jump on him for clock management issues but worship Chryst.

“As a member of the higher education community, a director of athletics and a native of Ohio, I am deeply troubled by the unfounded and slanderous remarks the President of the state’s flagship institution, Dr. E. Gordon Gee, made about Coach Bret Bielema. While I recognize Dr. Gee has issued an apology stating regret for his comments, it does not erase the unwarranted attack on Bret’s character. It is widely known Coach Bielema placed an emphasis on academics, character development and community outreach while serving at the University of Wisconsin. His 2010 and 2011 football teams won the Wisconsin Athletic Department’s community service and Champs Life Skills awards. Bret also had 131 academic all-conference selections in seven seasons and his team’s APR figures climbed each year with a most recent multiyear rate of 975 and a final single year rate of 1000. In his time here, Bret has demonstrated the qualities we sought when we brought him to the University of Arkansas and has supported our football student-athletes as reflected in one of our highest spring GPAs.”

Mr. E. Gordon was the president at Vandy & he's the one who shut down Vandy's AD. He did completely away with the position of A.Director & the whole dept. is now run under the auspices of a normal department head, like the history, math, etc depts.
