Impressive.

Another concern is how poorly Gilbert tested in athletic measurements. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.91 seconds, and his vertical jump was only 30 inches, according to 247Sports.

How many generations of the gilbert family do you think we have to go back to find the one that was alive for Texas A&Ms last championship in any of the big 3 sports?

Daniel, take a look at this

Only thing impressive here is how you have an extremely unhealthy and disturbing obsession with us 24/7/365.

A live look at Daniel when he realizes Jalen Wydermeyer only had 31 yards on the worst LSU defense in recent memory.

texag averaged 32 LSU threads this week.

Because he is an extremely pathetic individual, Texfag went and found an article from 2019 where bleacher report listed Arik as a defensive end
testing results
he actually had the best testing numbers of any tight end in his class

texag7 You have to be a Bama alter.

Arik Gilbert is a glorified WR. He's simply too much of a quitter to play the rest of the position. There are some offenses that have a use for that skill set (like LSU), but calling him a TE is an insult to all the hard-working men that put in the effort to block as well

Psycho Daniel’s obsession continues. Stop sucking so many dicks.

Jalen Wydermeyer
He’s like what Arik could be. If he wasn’t a slow and soft nut job

He did play DE as well as TE at Marietta and was a beast.

Arika could learn some things from Wydermyer. Such as every single piece of the job except catching the football.

Odd how 247 Sports predicts Arik to be a first round pick while they have Jalen projected to be a 4-7th round pick.
Scouting report for Gilbert:
quote:
Long-limbed, muscular, v-shaped athlete with a frame that can continue to add lean mass naturally. Rare body. Has played both sides of the ball for his high school and brings consistent effort in each role. Brings mismatch ability to the tight end position with both size and athleticism. Can play attached, split out as a wide receiver or as a 'move' tight end . Adequate hands and ball skills that have improved steadily over HS career. Can sink hips and change directions as a route-runner with receiver proficiency. Catches in traffic effectively. Highly competitive. Has elite verified combine athleticism. Once looked like a higher upside prospect at defensive end but has honed his offensive skill-set to become one of the most unique tight end prospects in years. Best tight end prospect we've seen since OJ Howard. Power five impact player on either side of the ball with first-round NFL Draft upside.
Scouting report for Wydermeyer:
quote:
Terrific height, length, and overall frame for a high-major tight end prospect. Long and lean with impressive build, though still possesses frame space to add bulk in college. Owns a large catch radius. Height and length provide high ceiling as a red-zone target. Good straight-line athlete who builds long speed. Seam-runner at tight end who can also split wide and stretch vertically. Experience lining up in multiple spots, including in-line, slot, and wideout. Willing and able blocker with high motor. Looks for work. Shows encouraging leverage consistency relative to height. Tons of potential as an in-line blocker. Flashes impressive drive-blocking ability thanks to consistent hand placement and leg drive. More of a long-strider than a burner. Can improve consistency as a hands catcher. Stiff through the hips and core. Could struggle getting open in tight quarters because of lack of close-quarters mobility. Raw as a route-runner and will round off routes. Must improve ball-tracking ability on deep routes. Does not high-point as consistently as a 6-foot-5 tight end should. Possesses a lot of potential and could develop into an NFL Draft pick.

Gilbert won't be a first round pick unless he learns to actually block. He's the biggest pussy I've ever seen at that size. Quit because the game was too "physical" for him last year, and cannot even hold onto the football against somebody significantly smaller.
