Was grown in Memphis, and transported to Fayetteville overnight. Trucks are being staggered so that the grass can be installed as soon as it arrives.

It would've kept my interest longer with some Les Miles color commentary for Ar-Kansas.

Was driving last week in Arlington and saw this sod farm for the first time. Pretty cool

I hope it gets established fast. They put new turf in for the Auburn - Oregon BCS game and that stuff was terrible. Players for both teams unable to make sharp cuts and a lot of slipping.

I never understood why stadiums are re-sodded at what seems like the last minute. Surely they knew the sod was going to be replaced. Why not do it in the spring so it can grow all summer and stitch itself together?

Arkansas really knows how to do Athletic facilities and facility upgrades. That was my take away from my visit to campus last year. Beautiful campus and everything stays up to date and very clean.

Though I haven't seen it personally, that new stadium sure does look good on tv. As does other videos I watch when they post them. Everybody knows what they are doing with their SEC money.

So they're switching BACK to real grass? Great for them. Shug Jordan said it best, College football is meant to be played on Campus and on Grass.

We never should have gotten away from it. But you know how folks are.

In our defense it is evidently a pain in the butt to grow great grass in our stadium because of how it sits in the valley.

Nope. You enter about midway up the stadium from every side. It's at the lowest point of the campus

The original stadium was on top of “The Hill” but the current one is near the bottom of that hill and was originally built in a depression in the land. That’s why the parking lot in the north end zone sits well above field level.

This pic during construction of the newest upgrade does a good job of showing how far down field level is from the north parking lot outside the stadium. The old stadium was somewhat to the left of that building that you can see in the background.

Thank you for ya'lls compliments.... but warning - talking up our facilities or suggesting that HOME games should be played on campus will cause the wms fans to come after you. Little Rock has a history of living in the past and they hate for anything to change.
