Are we going to insist that any expansion stay in the South?

Just like the big Ten went to the Plains for Nebraska and Mid Atlantic for Maryland and Rutgers. Will we here on TD go crazy if a non Southern team joins? Sorta like the feelings toward Missouri.

For example, hypothetically Notre Dame or Kansas types.

Va Tech is OK as in Chapel Hill or NC State.

this basically leaves us with Oklahoma or a DC (or two) Market school.

That would be crazy if Notre Dame joined tSEC

Just thinking about it makes me laugh. I can picture it now, all the trashy redneck Bama fans getting wasted and trashing Mother Mary's Cathedral parking lot tailgating spot before kickoff. "Hey Irish, we just beat the hell outta you"

Kansas as an example geographically. Don't want Kansas or K State. Would have taken Nebraska though

Okay. Well other than a North Carolina school, or a Virginia school... No. I don't want anyone. Stay at 14. Everyone keeps looking to 4 16 team super conferences, but that is an impossibility. Seriously impossible. Start doing the numbers. The Pac 12 jumping to 16, who do they grab? If you think they are jumping to 16, the Big 12 is imploding? Who do they take? OU/OSU/tu/Texas Tech? Okay. That is fair enough. What happens to the ACC? Who does the SEC and B1G pilfer from them? What if the Big 12 takes FSU/Clemson instead? Who does the Pac 12 take? Everyone thinks 4 16 team conferences is going to happen, but it is an impossibility.

I'd like to keep it in the south, but wouldn't mind a team like Oklahoma joining.

Only teams I would be even remotely open to joining would be from VA or NC, and even that's because of history.

In my crazy fantasy world I would add Oregon and Notre Dame and watch the rest of the college football world melt down.

It is about TV footprint. So no new teams from a state that has a SEC team. We will go to Nc- Va next.

Part of the reason I want 16 in the SEC so badly is to make sure that spot isn't saved for OU.

TV footprint shouldn't be the primary determining factor.
