This guy gets it. Bragging rights and WRTS is great after beating Tech each year, but the true hatred flows through Jacksonville. Example: UGA didn't spark a rivalry with Central Florida when GT's old coach went to work there. You can't say the same thing about UF's coach. Spurrier and Spurrier alone stoked the fires of the "rivalry" between USCjr and UGA.

Nailed it! If Butch Jones didn't get it done at Tennessee, then no one can. They definitely should no longer be considered Big 6 as they are now more like the UAB of that state. Tennessee should seriously consider shutting down football operations.

I live about 5 minutes from the state line...obviously I hate Tech and Auburn...but the most important game every year to me is in JAX.

We are not rivals with Tennessee or South Carolina. We cannot be rivals with every team in the SEC East.
Every Tennessee fan is sadly living off the success they had in the 20th century. Their program is currently going nowhere. You really have to feel sorry for them.
I wouldn't call UT/UGA a rivalry, per se, but I would say from personal experience that the two fanbases don't care for one another. I think it's more on the side of Tennessee due to close proximity and there being a lot of Tennessee grads in the state of Georgia.
