Not that he would have come home, but this has to be good for the majority of your fanbase. I dont think he would have been a good fit.

Dabo is goofy. Blames others for his failures. Road his assistants like a wet horse. Surprisingly immature. Would like to see Bama hire him after Saban

IDGAF. He’s a Bama boy but Dabo’s down home preacher shtick grows old quickly. He had a good run but he’s not built for the long haul. Bama will probably be coached post-Saban by someone we’re not thinking about right now.

Is he regressing? All coaches go through a slump. Even Saban had a 2 loss season a few years ago.

His awwww shucks demeanor and "Parise Be To Gawd" is a bit irritating and nice guys get chewed up and spit out at Bama....the fans respond to a General Patton type like Bryant or Saban not a Mr. Nice Guy players coach.
Still Dabo is a good coach and think he would have success at Bama if it were to happen. He has won two titles but done that playing in the ACC not in the murderers row that is the SEC West. I think he could win but how long he could sustain it is questionable....but then again no one can really. Saban is just a freak of nature.

Im sure he'd tone down his schtick if he went to Bama but he is just so damn annoying. Enough so to where Id be fine if we hired somebody else.
As far as regressing, next year will be huge for him. They've gotten blown out in 3 of the past 4 playoffs and this year they got knocked out of playoff contention in the ACC in September.

I guess it all just depends on the timeline. Saban will work until towards the end of his life, if he has it his way, but I still think his wife, kids and grandkids will want him to retire at some point. Everyone says his endgame is to get a certain amount of championships, but I dont believe that. He will retire out of the blue, immediately after some future season, IMO.

Dabo would be a disaster at UA. Saban got rid of the good ole boy network at UA and Dabo would just bring it back. He has been handing out ships to his former coaches kids and grandkids. he has coaches on his staff at Clemson that were cancers when they were coaches at UA.
Ask yourself this why would he want to go from being the GOAT HC in Clemson history to at best the 3rd or 4th best HC in UA history ?
