Seriously- When was the last time there was benching talk about 2 preseason Heisman favorites?!?

No doubt LSU and Nuss have an offense problem but one could argue that Texas and Arch have had the worse fall from preseason media hype. Both ranked #1 as a team and for heisman odds. Also…what does this say about preseason media hype in general?

Nuss is playing hurt, no? Arch is a victim of hype and Texans acting as if Texas wins a natty every season. Arch is not terrible but he isn’t a Heisman candidate and Texas has issues outside of Manning.

I think it has to be Nuss simply because he’s been so great the previous 2 years.

Arch reached mythical status based on his name alone.

I really hope Nuss figures it out. He seems like a really good dude.

Arch just because the media was acting like he would be Superman out there. When Spurrier said why isn't he starting over Ewers in year 2 if he is what the media is saying he is I guess he was right.

It’s not Nuss or the running backs. It’s the Offensive Coordinator and lack of schemes.

LSU was more creative under Les Miles. At least Les had the Jet Sweep. Only one or 2 teams not named Alabama ever really stopped it.

This offense is horrible. You are on the side of the players can’t run it or the play callers chose bad plays. Either way it’s the Offensive Coordinators fault.

Arch and it isn't close. People were talking Arch nationally more than any qb.

Nepotism rarely works. Both are subject to family history of success that hasn’t translated to reality

Arch Manning is the most over-hyped college player since Beano Cook slobbered all over Ron Powlus’ cock. Generational talent, front runner for Heisman, and #1 draft choice was thrown around without challenge by the national media. As others have noted, if his last name wasn’t Manning, we wouldn’t hear shite about him.

Full blown joke.

I actually don’t recall all that much fellating of Nuss.

A bit of hype, but nothing predicting world-beater status.

It is Arch without question based on the premise of media hype. But, to be fair, Arch never asked for the hype or did anything in HS, camps he didn't attend, or college until his start to earn that hype, other than to be named Manning. Not his fault in that regard.

Nuss has talent around him and experience. Maybe it is an injury, or maybe it is something else, but Nuss has certainly been the bigger stepback from realistic expectations vs media click bait nonsense.

Multiple Heismans for Powlus, iirc. Dude was selling that hard, too.

They were both equally hyped by their fanbases and they both equally suck.

Nussmeir completed 64% of his passes last season, 29 tds and 12 interceptions. That isn’t great.

When I occasionally noted these numbers I was assured that he would progress in his 2nd year same as Burro and Daniels.
