Anyone up for another SEC only schedule?

With maybe some minor adjustments, I think SEC only should be the way going forward.

I liked it, but I'd like to see at least one good OOC game too.

I loved it. Maybe 10 SEC games plus two.

So you can go 5-5 again?

Agreed. Maybe a 9 game conference schedule with a P5 stipulation for 1 OOC game then 2 rent a wins.

No, some of us have rivals.

I like traveling and beating teams like Texas in their place. Losing those types of games I don’t think is good for CFB.

But they wouldn’t have to see Troy.

Nah. I'd like the opportunity to at least continue OOC rivalry games.
And I won't be for it unless the rest of CFB and media doesn't decide to punish the SEC for playing a tougher schedule. With all of the bitching I heard from non-SEC people about Kentucky going to a bowl, even though we're as good as an 8-win ACC team, there'll be plenty of detractors who will punish the SEC for beating up on each other.

Without the games against the smaller schools, their athletic programs would shut down.
Hate to see them go away.

the nonconference game is very important so you can judge the collective strength of the conferences. Have to have at least 2 solid noncon games.

I like it, too, but we can't do it until the NC picture changes. Why should we beat up on each other just to help OU or ND or Oregon make the playoffs? One benefit of going to a 16 team playoffs is that you eliminate much of the incentive to schedule 4 weak games.

I liked the conference only schedule, but games like Fl / FSU etc... should be given an opportunity.
I do think a 9 game conference slate should occur. Some of the teams go far too long without playing.

Only Alabama is up for the task
So no one else will want too

Having the conference beat up only on each other does not give a reasonable perspective as to where conferences are relative to one another. Hence, the media thinking coastal Carolina deserving to be in the top 4.

Lack of OOC is how we ended up with two acc teams in the playoff.

Probably not strictly SEC only, but more SEC games and less shitty games absolutely.
Teams like State, Ole Miss and Kentucky showed that having a ".500 record" is an idiotic measure for who should or shouldn't be in a bowl game, anyway, so if we can work around that then those teams would be more likely to be up for it too I'd think.

I think change is definitely on the horizon for the sport of football.
I don't think next year will be it though.
Conferences and schools need as much inventory from both football and basketball as they can get to offset the losses everyone is enduring right now.
Most important thing is they need the fans back!
At some point they need to change and I think it is Power 5 breaking away.

Maybe Power 5 only?
I liked it this year. But I mean it would still be nice to see games like Auburn/Oregon, Bama/USC

Shitty two loss teams that lost to teams that lost to Sun Belt teams and two loss conference champs that lost to miserable teams is how we ended up with two ACC teams.
